Retromotorsport Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 your car, your choice, personally i think they are far too modern I'm a traditionalist... http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/large_wheel_pages/bps.html http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/large_wheel_pages/rm1.html http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/large_whee ... assic.html
Copey Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 have to agree with RMS, they are too modern for my taste, i would go for summert a little more retro lookin
zetecmk2 Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 look below, i think sometimes, modern works (now white though)
NeilT Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 im a retro wheel fan myself but i do love a deep dish especial on a x-pack!
fostersice Posted May 4, 2009 Author Report Posted May 4, 2009 or maybe these but they have to be deep dish
radar tech Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 i prefer the oldskool look myself , but its your motor matey put your stamp on it
john_3.0s Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 IMHO these would look better http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/vi ... hp?t=96863
sambo Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 I know i cant talk having modern wheels on mine n all but please keep it old skool! Given the choice, i would have revolution splitties on mine!
hotrodholty Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 i like the big jap/drift style wheels, that yellow x pack looks the tits, go for it bud
LGreen Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 in my opinion modern wheels can look good but you have o be very careful which ones you pick. as others have said its your car, do what you want. i do like the look of the wheels you first showed tho. other areas of the car would need to be more modern as well i think, like seats and stearing wheel.
fostersice Posted May 7, 2009 Author Report Posted May 7, 2009 ive got to fine a way of fitting 5stud to my 4 stud now lol 4 x 108 hubs to 5 x 114.3 wheels there has got to be a way ? ANYONE!
285Andy Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 blimey! what size diameter are those how low can you run it? id have drop it down right over them wheels so make the rim look wider
fostersice Posted May 7, 2009 Author Report Posted May 7, 2009 they are 9.5j x 18 on the rear and 8.5j x 18 on the front i only just dummy mounted that one to see how it looked i have to fine a 4 x 108 to 5 x 114.3 20mm spacer for the rear and im fitting the new coilovers to the front tomorrow so i can see what spacers i need for the fronts i have 235/40/18 on the back for now but can go up to 266/35/18 with the 235 i can go lower by 2" if i want with out any probs on the rear. well happy with them just need to get them fitted now HELP.....
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 they look ok its your choice your car imho i would put oldskool style wheels on but hey ive got fiesta pepper pots on a mk5 cortina
fostersice Posted May 8, 2009 Author Report Posted May 8, 2009 i replace everything on the car new for old every nut bolt washer bushes replaced by poly bushes coilovers in place of leaf and shock rollcage not trim and being painted in a 2009 rs focus green old skool wheels wouldnt like right if it was a flat front maybe but its not plus £580 to have 15" wheels made plus tires V 18" deep dish inc tires £400 gives me the look i want plus more money to get in on the road.
LGreen Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 that sounds like its going to be awesome. wheels will go well with that paint colour. will need some massive brakes to go behind them. Just wouldnt look as good with little drum brakes. sure youl have already thought of that tho.lg
BIGKEV Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Looks the Muts Nuts mate - love those rims - these wide arched escort thingys are catching on arent they lol
LGreen Posted May 8, 2009 Report Posted May 8, 2009 Where did you get those wheels from?they're well cheap! especially for 18"
