ekjim Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Hi all, Been a while since I started a thread on here! Cant remember where I got to on the last update but for 09 the idea was to make myself an anglia that will run an 11second quarter on a relatively street spec. To do this im thinking along with the turbo and nitrous, a supercharger was in order to start getting immediate boost! I wont go into too much detail but over the past 4 months iv been designing a twin charged set up that i feel will work. Tonight I got the car running for the first time and these are the results I came up with, hope you like Think the bonnet needs cut again :lmao: comments would be appreciated, hope to see some of you again at OSFDC shakespeare again this year! Jim
Sexi_bexi Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 i'm agreeing with the others, crazy! id love my engine bay to look that clean in the future
vibrating_Cake Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 wow.... one thing i can say, is that the reccomended belt size for the supercharger... looks a little flimsy for an 11 second car's worth!!! lets hope for good results eh!
EscortHeadCase Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Wow. Way to think outside the box! What sort of power would that be looking at?
Johnson Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 yer mate, thats the nuts are you running the turbo into the supercharger?
285Andy Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 lmao! cant beat a little extra boost eh! nice one mate! i love it
mk1super Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Jim your crazy! I fookin love that love your thinking too much is never enough!
qwerty Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 That is mentally fabulous!!Keep up the incredible work!
ekjim Posted May 7, 2009 Author Report Posted May 7, 2009 Thanks for the comments , just really hope it does what I want it to do! The engine is a ca18det, its a 1.8 turbo from a nissan 200sx. Hopefully if all goes to plan I have made the setup so that the turbo will be feeding the charger, hopefully it will counteract turbo lag and there will always be constant boost Jim.
ekjim Posted May 8, 2009 Author Report Posted May 8, 2009 Got some pics taken by a friend of my sons tonight. Iv had the car out on the road a bit and it feels excellent, makes me feel I have made the right decision with the charger The bonnet still has a scoop to be made and wont be kept that colour! Jim.
Kieran Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 that is awesome mate cant wait to see it down the drag strip this year
lance uppercut Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 nice work, looks like a tidy installation reminds me of alan allard's dragon anglia with the blower hanging out the bonnet like that
ekjim Posted May 10, 2009 Author Report Posted May 10, 2009 Thanks again for the comments Does anyone know a quarter time on the dragon anglia? Ive got pics of that car on the gargage wall
