Please find below my suggestion for fixing Britain 's economy. Instead of giving billions of pounds to banks that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan: There are about 20 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them £1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Twenty million job openings - Unemployment fix ed .

2) They MUST buy a new British CAR. Twenty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed .

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed .

4) They must send their kids to school / college /university - Crime rate fixed

5) Buy £50 of alcohol / tobacco a week there's your money back in duty / tax etc

It can't get any easier than that!

P.S. If more money is needed , have all members of parliament pay back their falsely claimed expenses and second home allowances

Sounds good to me but with one slight flaw..............

If the banks are allowed to go under and take the rest of all our money (and money from the companies that employ and pay us) with them, what's left to bail out the other 30 million of us?:?

God your so serious lol

Not at all, I just have a habit of assessing everything from every angle (comes from my line of work) and think that if it weren't for the fact that the bank have their grubby mits tightly around everyone elses cash, then your joke above may actually have some merit.

Oh and PS, I'll retire now if it qualifies me for 1 million squids

Oh and I've just done the maths, giving 20 million people a million quid totals an outlay of £20 000 000 000 000 and there are so many zero's in that I've lost count but I think it works out as twenty thousand billion  I don't think we gave the banks that much
