thats what i meant jo, everything you see in the sweeney is period, what you see in life on mars are restored cars and (mostly) repro props, clothes, items etc. ant that skinny detective (the star of the show) doesnt look at all 70's, oh and that w0man pc's voice gets right on my tits!

Unless the BBC own a time machine then I can't see how they can't use restored cars, repro clothes and the like

I don't watch either - partly cos the periods are done/overdone so badly but mainly cos the whole context is stupid/implausible.

Yeh, I suppose it would be a better series if it wasn't for the whole time travel thing, however on the other hand it makes ya think.

I thought that Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes were brilliant, at least there was a story to both series.

To criticise the shows for 'not being correctly period' is pretty narrow minded. I watch very little TV myself but can now look forward to the third series of Ashes to Ashes.

 I am pretty narrow minded, its true - I only enjoy realistic, beleivable fiction wiv well thought out plots and accurate portrayals of life, sorry

There are plenty of other threads for fans of the show - let us have ours eh?
