caprinerd Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 our new ambulances and response cars have a permanent recording cctv fitted in them now for our safety, hopefully will be good to use as evidence when we get assaulted and get proper convitions rather than the pointless £50 fines they give out for attacking us!they are on e rolling loop hard drive or summat that over records after a period of time so if something happens we just press a button and it stores it as evidence! you guys need them with the low life that the country seems to have produced now
Messenjah Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 right this might seem odd coming from a 20 year old but things have really changed ... i remember i used to live next to a massive park i used to ride around by myself through what have always been "druggie" woods and nothing was thought of it i used to ride to the other side of town to see my nan etc i wa sall over the place used to camp out in tents with my mates in the park now my brother who is 7 years wouldnt dream of getting on his bike and riding over to my nans and i was doing so when i was about 8 (he is 13 now ) he isnt allowed in the park next to our house because its dangerous i was mugged in the park myself and im 6"1 and was at the time 21 stone so not a small guy but when theres 4 large black males with foot long razor sharp machetes there not much you can do. even when i was younger the violent crime in stevenage happened between semi organised gangs and the worst weapons were bits of pipe or wood now its sabbings and the occasional shooting it seemed to change pretty much when i left primary school which was when completely unprovoked a friend of mine was set upoon by 12 lads armed with 2x4 bits of wood and baseball bats they broke 6 of his ribs both his legs and arms and his cheek bone and left him for dead for absolutley no reason it was all caught on cctv but no arrests were made. but this massive change from "safe" streets to dont go out by yourself at night has happened in my relatively short life atleast where i live it has. all my female friends are under instruction to ring me rather then walk home aftere a night out drinking or clubbing as i cant bear the thought of anything happening to them and the likelyhood of it is too high a few times i have had almost whispered phonecalls from girls my age asking me to come and find them because there is a man following them home asnd once i got there just in time as he grabbed her and poulled her behind a parade of shops i just saw it happen out of the corner of my eye i tell you what though he wont do it again cctv is not an answer to violent crime but if it helps to catch even one potential rapist or peadophile before they ruin someones life or one potential murdere before they end someones life then the moneyu we pay in tax is surely worth it how can you value an innocent human life ?

The guy was clearly still struggling refusing to comply with the requests of the officer so a tazer was deployed, now Tazer is lower on the use of force scale then CS gas or Baton so what are we supposed to do, roll around on the floor with them until we both end up injured, this is just the sort of thing that Tazer is being introduced for!!. As for the officer punching him, again totally justifed! He was hitting him on the arm as a strike to get him to release his hands that were in front of his body. Something that we are trained to do, Yet more friggin left wing hippies jumping on the bandwagon complaining of excessive force, yet we are damned if we do damned if we don't.... Maybe we should just let ppl roam the streets kicking the shit out of ppl, stand back and say, sorry can't get involved, I might injury him whilst arresting him. the round ones! I could understand it if the guy was getting a shooing with a boot, but FFS he clearly isn't responding to any requests from the officers, so WTF are you supposed to do, stand there and take a smack? What has happended prior to this incident? Im pissed off with ppl thinking that honest hard working cops are out there just to give ppl a smack, yet more evidence that this country stinks and I can't wait to leave it behind!! As for CCTV, bring it on!, the more the better, I haven't got anything to hide, and as for ppl saying "oh but I don't want someone to spy on me whilst Im going about my personal business", get a life! Do you really think someone is going to be interested in you doing nothing!, the cameras are there for a reason not to spy on innocent members of the public, they are there to look at the scrotes nicking stuff to fund their drug habits! As for the earlier comment about littering not being something that should be stamped on, well if parents and Police had come done hard on litterdroppers a few years ago, then this country might not be in such a shit state that it is now, Letting ppl think its ok, to drop their crap all over the place leads them to have no social conscience and then IMO leads on to the same ppl thinking that its ok to commit further worse crimes, which then leads on to a spiralling moral society. Sorry if I have gone off on a rant, but it pisses me off that these threads come up always having a pop at the Police, as if its their fault, maybe if this shit country got its house in order, stopped giving out money to every twat who pops a sprog out, just to get a house, or every illegal who goes thorough every country in Europe to claim asylum here, then jumps on the back of a lorry, leaves the country and comes back in under another name just to claim double benefits! Or the MP's who think its ok to use our money to fund friggin duck houses! and claim back donations to the church fund. Or prisoners who want to get into prison because its a better life then outside, with Playstations and TV's, FFS get them out in chain gangs clearing up the country, make them dig holes, break rocks, NOT leave them laying around in cells all day, talking to their mates working out how to do the next 'big job' and if they don't work hard enough then add another day to their sentance, Prison should be a punishment, not a friggin Butlins camp.... RANT OVER!

Find out the percentage of crimes commited by immigrants to nationals .. a hard task as most goes undetected or public.. ie a house fire near me that wasnt in the papers , cant say anymore for legal reasons. find out if exports get taxed more than imports find a reason for us working 26 weeks in 52 to pay the taxes .. yep 50% of your wages goes on tax . because for this to work you need Facts .. without them no one will acctually listen One thing that gets to me is the money used on translators , printed claims forms for speakers of other languages, comunity centers and meetings .. etc , all paid for by our taxes , yet in other countries there is none of this ... yes the barman in a foreign country may know a few words of english, but he relies on this for his trade, we have companies here that have french speakers because they deal with france, german speakers because they deal with Germany, but you wont see a form printed in English over there. I was sitting in my local tax office, a young english mum came in about tax credits, she was given a form and told to ring the number on it ... so she took the form and her 2 children home, a little later a eastern European family came in .. was pointed to a phone on the wall and while the 10 kids and 5 adults messed around the youngest female adult got on the phone ..1/2 hourlatyer they all left smiling .. How come our English Mum didnt get a free phone call. I'm an Equalist, equal rights for everyone who is a national of this country, wether they are aphiasists (sp) christians, muslims, wiccas, heatherns, buddist or even jedi's ... wether they are white , pink red, black or blue .. if they live here, they have the same rights. They have the right to work.. no work when they arrive, they go home. If after working a month they lose the job, they go home So effectively if they dont work, they go home, and thats for say a probation period of 2 years .. no one can scrounge in the first 2 years .. thats should stop some of the non genuine workers. If you want to move to england .. you learn the language. Full stop. No official forms printed in foreign languages.. learn if you want to stay. (my mates in France, hes never seen a form in English and has learnt French) Foreign aid .... the richest country on this earth is the Vatican, we are all Gods children so let them help their children. We should sort out our own problems before looking after others, we give aid in the form of charities, thats enough, thats people chosing to send a pound or a tenner, what THEY can afford. Our taxes should go on this country, Invest in things that will make the country better, CCTV and lights in Dark places, stopping the Gangs of youths, yes it may move them on, so follow them with more CCTV .. if someone is against CCTV, ask what they are hiding, I for one dont mind a Copper watching my back as i walk down the street, i'm not a crimminal. As for Crime.. we really do need to step up on. Mart was right, sort of, you will get a criminal that thinks he wont get caught, but if 2 out of 3 criminals think they will , and stop doing crime, that leaves the police 66% more time to solve crime. And i will always suport the 3 strikes and your out policy. 3 crimes and you have signed your death sentance. I mean, seriously if a person has been banged up twice before, comes out and comits another crime.. well frankly thier a waste of a brain. Like i said in my other post on a different thread ... Its no good banning a driver again when he's caught driving on a ban.. Its no good giving a suspended sentance to someone who has done another crime while on a suspened sentence.. they should go away. thats the idea of the sentance being suspened .. its suspended as a deterant... Scrap suspended sentances.. do a crime do the time. Perhaps we should do some polls... "would commit a crime if the minimum sentance for any crime was 5 years" Yes No Maybe" "would you commit another crime if the 3 strikes and your rule was in" Yes No Maybe" We have a good cross section of people on here, perhaps the results will show some surprises .. and no one will know whos voted what. Its the same when you get English people being handed a sentance of 30 years for trying to smuggle out drugs. As soon as they are locked the local MP is in the papers, theres questions in the house etc .. sorry but we should follow thses countries example and hand out punshiments to criminals instead of Holidays. A day in the Goverments English Prison Wake up for showers and breakfast watch morning TV go online to surf for a prison penpal eat dinner go play some sports tidy cell relax in the REC room, playing on the PS3 and pool tables, watching DVD's etc Visiting time with your Penpal, oooh and as it serious with this one, theres a bed in the room at the end of the corridor Phone home with your phone card watch more TV go to sleep complain to the Guard that his boots are keeping you awake so he goes and gets his slippers (yes this did happen) A Day in My Prison Get up at 6am make up cell showers 8am work (breaking rocks for all i care) 10 am break for 15 mins 1pm till 1.30pm dinner 3pm break for 15mins 5.30 pm showers 6pm in cell with a book or the wall or at dinner 11pm lights out and on sunday, you get a day off to wander around the yard or carry on reading your book. The prison gives you Toilet rolls, toiletries, pen and paper, 3 meals, drinks and roof and bed ... thats it If you want a book, your family sends it, if you want ciggarettes your family sends it , if you want to top yourself the prison supplies the rope. and my reply to a thread about knife crime ... Live by the sword .. die by the sword .. You carry .. you get put away You use .. you lose your life, wether its a knick or a fatal stab, you lose, no excuse, no pleading, just an injection .. a prick for a prick. And by cutting crime with the 3 strikes rule, it frees the prisons up to have a longer sentance handed out .. no month sentances .. lets make it a year for any crime minimum. A judge saying you have been fined £300 or 4 hours in the cells is a mockery. it laughable .. A person who kills a pedestrain or maims them while driving on a ban should lose thier life. A person who stabs someone should reap what they sowed .. If the Law gets tough, the crimes will go down. The prisons are full of people who are being re-habilitated into a law abiding persons .. for the 10th or more time .. Also if a person gets caught for one break in .. hes not going to get a soft sentance for clearing up another 300 breakins by saying " would like a further 300 offences taken into consideration" ... the Police will have to solve them, as in my world he would be dead if he said another 2 offences. 3 strikes.. your out!!! The goverment needs to draw up a plan, and see what people want .. trouble is, because they have gone soft theres more criminals out there than honest people So draw a plan up on crime and punishment, put it to the vote, and only let people without criminal records vote... yep sorry, you lost that right when you broke the law . I dont think i'm being harsh ... i just want to feel safe and not worry about my propetities being broken into .. not much to ask for is it ?

Sorry Daggle but for once I don't agree with you though I do support you in your frustration with some peoples attitude towards the Police and share your contempt for those that think the police force is there just for them to abuse. Re CCTV, I can think of a number of other nations in the world that monitors its innocent citizens indiscriminately: Iran, North Korea and China for instance. The ability to monitor people going about their daily business is a power just waiting to be abused here like it has been in those countries.
