For once I agree with Antz, I think the bad taste jokes are disgusting, he was a human being after all and at least deserves some dignity in death even if he didn't get any from the press in life.

I was and always will be a big fan, I'm just glad that I can remember the best years. Legend is a word that is over used, but he was up there with Elvis and The Beatles, There won't be another one like him, inspirational!

tasteless jokes  You should all be ashamed. How would you feel if one of your close relatives died suddenly before their time and all people could do is send round silly tasteless jokes about his death.

Sicko's.

R.I.P MJ

It's cos we're bad, we're bad. You know it

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I'm not sure now is the time for bad taste jokes - so Beat it! (Sorry  )

Who really knows what he ever got up to? I notice the press have all done a U turn...

I said last night - I bet no papers head lines read - Wacko Dead!

I was right.

I don't trust any news papers and don't buy them. I remember his music with affection and dont judge him.

Have to admit he was a bit odd though :D

Feel for his kids.

I am neither sorry or happy he's dead, and can't help thinking this is for the best.....

You are a really nice person Fred. I honestly cant believe you would say ITS FOR THE BEST!? I am lost for words with that comment.

Why was this moved to the corner?

my personal views on him as a person dont come into it but his music was a stepping stone in the music history, like hendrix ,i couldnt stand his music but again he was a stepping stone in music history

all the bad and sick jokes that are flying around is just disrespectful to the dead, the man was a legend in his own right love his music or hate his music there is no doubt it was a big influence

yep, 2.30am US time. I am neither sorry or happy he's dead, and can't help thinking this is for the best. Sorry for his children, but at least it stops him passing on his wako opinions to them....

If you read (or quote the rest of what I said) you will see I said I am sorry for his children, but are you forgetting he dangled one of them out of a hotel window? Not hardly the actions of a stable parent. He covered their faces in public. This is all well documented, not hearsay or found to be not true by a jury. Had he not been so rich and famous I doubt he would have hung on to his children anyway.

Also he wasn't a peter file he only put 20 million dollars in that kids account for fun

But in all fairness he was a legend

its a bit harsh fred, he was what he was and a person at the end of the day, the face covering was to protect his kids from the media and he was found on countless occasions to be a good father, one mistake should not condemn a man for life and death

i had a similar opinion the thing about him most of the comments of he was a legend should end in about 15 years ago. he was not the same person any more he had very little of the money left that is why he was doing a comeback! when my mate told me he had tickets 2 a mj thing i laughed at him said he would never do it this just proved it rly! i feel sorry for his family but he was proper messed up in the head!

yes he was a human so RIP but why is it such a shock that there are jokes about it and my issue is his music will be everywhere yes its good sometimes but not all hours for weeks like it will be!

I'm a fairly cynical bloke but I don't think he was a kiddy fiddler. I think he was a nutter due to his childhood, career and the fame and money it brought him for about 45 out of 50 years. He was an idiot but not a bad soul at heart

I only actualy liked billyjean as far as the music goes, the rest was crap.

Why is this in the Corner? I thought it was a genuine half decent topic with people giving personal opinions?

Sorry but anyone in the public eye who acts so frikken wierd, hangs babys over balconys, sleeps with kids in his bed and pays off people instead of taking his fight to court and publicly getting proven inocent is going to get slated and the pee taken.

Every single joke he bought on himself, tis the price you pay for being famouse and a wierd fooked up MOFO.

If he had any sense he would have died earlyer before all the shite hit the fan and then he would have the "ah what a nice bloke" memorys, i didn't see anyone jumping to Gary Gliters defence when the jokes came out, some people just can't see beyond thier record collection

R.I.P, a great and sad loss.

Thr guy was famous since he was like 6, so when all his mates were out riding there bikes he was performing in front of thousands of people. No childhood at all I hink this can contribute towards his behaviour.

I do generally beleive he was a nice guy, and why reference Gary Glitter?

I never see anything nice about GG so its kind of irelivent. (sp)

All the people that knew MJ said he was a good guy with a good heart. Regardless of what happened.

you can bet gary glitter wont get the same attention when he pops his clogs.

The difference with Gary Glitter is that he was found guilty of child sex crimes in this country and abroad Jacko was found INNOCENT .

Jackson was a great entertainer so hope he is remembered for the music and not the weird stuff R.I.P jacko

I have to agree with you, and maybe he was a product of his weird early life. On the other hand, none of his brothers are (apparently) as wako as MJ was, and they had the same weird early life and background. This says there was something wrong with him.

True, you can't argue with the fact he sold the most records ever, that's only the public facet of the man, it doesn't make him personally perfect.

It's also interesting there is no sympathy for Gary Glitter (rightly so), and even though it's possible that MJ slept with children in all innocence, the cause has the same effect, and has no less impact on the children involved. And speaking of children, I wonder how may years of therapy MJ's kids will undergo? Or will they just see themselves as normal in their normality?

On a serious note i hope he finds the peace and happiness in death he never found in life, say what you will about him he was the king of pop and lead the way for many other artists  RIP MJ

I think that a lot of the time, the jokes that go around are just a way for the people that write them to have some sense of notoriety (even if they remain anonymous)

I am of the opinion that MJ was a product of his childhood, just like the rest of us. It is very hard to pull yourself away from the way that things have been branded into your brain from an early age. As usual, I blame the parents.

I would like those who have mocked his death and in fact those who have said that they are glad that he is dead to consider how they would feel if their father had been accused of child abuse, then tried and ultimately CLEARED of all charges, only to have that stigma attatched to them for the rest of their life. Then to cap it all your dad died at the age of 50 and still everyone wants to tear you to shreds for what I see as being 'different' or 'strange' or 'eccentric' (like we sometimes get called for liking old cars). We all make mistakes in life and MJ was no different.

Well, actually my dad died when I was 13, and my mother some 7 years later in a psychiatric hospital. By some strange twist of fate I managed to avoid interfering with children.....

As I said MJ's brother's managed to be apparently unscathed.

Posted
MJ's parents didn't die, he died. And as said before, surely he was innocent of any wrongdoing until proven guilty?

I don't get what you mean about the parents.....No smoke without fire!

Posted

I don't do cliche sayings Fred. How many people have been accused of things over the years who were innocent? How many people are ridiculed and persecuted because they do not conform to the 'norm'. If indeed there is no smoke without fire then all accusations on anything, towards anyone must be true.

As a side note, my cigarettes smoke without fire ;)

You said your parents died and you are 'normal'. MJ's parents didn't die, but they are the main reason for the way he was brought up, and fooked up.
