Toby Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 Usually when people disguise the pale/white patches caused by vitiligo they do it to return to their original appearance, not to make them uniformally the pale colour of the affected patches. Fair enough but how bad was his case? And most people aren't permenantly in the press and having their photos published. I can imagine it might affect your self confidence and more so given his high profile career.
over_head_cam Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 Good point Toby. After all, MJ was in the public eye in one way or another for 41 of his 50 years, so image (self and media) must be extremely important
H.P.E harry Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Such a sad loss for him to have gone, he was a musical legend with such a great talent for dancing. Ive grown up with his music from the word go so for me it is such sad news.
FredTransit Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Good point Toby. After all, MJ was in the public eye in one way or another for 41 of his 50 years, so image (self and media) must be extremely important All the more reason for him to keep his original appearance surely? if I had a disease that was to gradually turn my skin dark, but I had the money to keep continually correct it to my original appearance (white) I would. I wouldn't use the disease to as an excuse to visually change my race. What MJ did seems (IMHO) to be to use the disease to become white. After all, it didn't make him straighten his hair did it? Or wear lipstick? Or have multiple nose jobs? BTW I have had these opinions about MJ for years, and I am neither going to say what a great, well balanced bloke he was or say nothing just because he died. It's a subject of the moment, and this is a discussion forum.....
BIGKEV Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 I hate the worlds fascination with celebrities - Its all the round ones Its the Children I am concerned for - the media will hunt them down and continue to do eventually ruining more lives with media nonsense. When will it end!!

It's a subject of the moment, and this is a discussion forum..... As said by toby you didnt know how bad his skin condition was, it can spread so fast in some cases plus there isn't anything that can be done to treat it. Yeah you can get gels to stop it from spreading but that only works in less aggressive cases. Also i have always had a good opinion of mj, its not since he has died that i have taken a liking to him, its not subject of the moment, if there was a thread that came up in five years i will still reply with 'what a legend he was and is'. If your not really bothered whether he is dead or not then dont write nothing at all.....
tazrocks88 Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 I hate the worlds fascination with celebrities - Its all hairy spheres Its the Children I am concerned for - the media will hunt them down and continue to do eventually ruining more lives with media nonsense. lotusless Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 this crazy freakshow continues today! i was reading the paper + they spoke to the owners of the animal sanctury where his chimp bubbles is now living, and wait for it they said "bubbles will not be attending the funeral" + staff there have said "we have not told him about the death" are these fookin people for real
FredTransit Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 What I can't believe is the promotors have offered to send out the O2 tickets to MJ's concerts instead of a refund! WTF? They should refund them, and offer the ticket to the person who sold it cheap! I appreciate they will have a value to collectors, but they are not exactly dateless 20ps are they?
H.P.E harry Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 i'm not touching this post with a barge pole. You just did
sambo Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 I think its sad. The worlds most famous bloke almost. How can anyone who grew up with his music not feel a tiny bit sad that the bloke has died? dont get me wrong, i wont cry or go to a memorial etc but to just slag him off is a bit wrong. Think about it, he was a mega, mega star since he was very young, you are simply not gonna be anywhere normal. He has never been able to go to the cinema or out on the pull with his mates etc. The same for Britney Spears, i just feel sorry for them tbh. i dont really care that much but i wont be laughing (too much) at the people who do really care. We follow these people lives through the tabloids and make and break these people. Its quite sad really.
bigdaz27 Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 ive only just come back from holiday so havent been able to post but im deeply saddnd buy his death and i think most people who grow up in the 80s will be to. R.I.P
FredTransit Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 Bit of an odd thought, but will the saddos in the Big Brother house know about this? Not that I care.....
