escortmad79 Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 Damn it!! Unusual that it has pinstripes instead of broad stripes
285Andy Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 must be gutted, poor bugger i know i would be after owning it for that long
YOUNGY Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 how sad poor bloke had it all that time and looked after it and some scum bags steal it
Muppetboy Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 This actually car is the reason a whole bunch of kids back in the early eighties in Birmingham got into cars and blue ovals. They would lean on the owners wall just looking and dreaming of owning such a car. All those chaps grew up into full on Petrolheads in and around Birmingham and now in thier late thirties and early forties are really pissed off that some lowlives have stolen this car. I would hope whoever has the car has a decent bone in their spineless bodies and returns it. Oh and I have to say that the guys are mighty pissed off and wouldn't like to be in the thieving scumbags shoes if any of them find out who they are. So if the Thief is reading this, give it back you turds, for once in your miserble lives do the right thing.
Fishtailparka Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Some more details, copied from elsewhere. The vinyl roof has slight cracks filled with paint. The windscreen has a small 'bullseye' chip in the drivers side. The windscreen has the original 'Dynatrol' sticker at the passenger side. Rear 1/4 light rubber has a crack which is filled with black mastic. All windows (except doors) have reg number etched (SHA 42N). Leather gear knob with silver centre engraved RS2000 (that's a bit uncommon). Round RS badge - gold on black - fixed to centre console. The car mats are grey with light grey edging RS2000 embroided in a red inset. RS alloys fitted with 185/70 x 13 Semperit tyres. Spare wheel has original dunlop tyre (used). Front and rear shocks are red 'Sachs' items. If you hear of or have any information please let me know. I'll be happy to pass on your details to the owner. secretary@avoclub.com

mexman123 Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 What a wounder! I feel so very sorry for this guy that it brings a tear to my eye..Why oh why cant these people understand what they have done to this poor old chap, and just do the decent thing and return it? Even if they just park it up nearby and ring the police from a call box and tell them where it can be found. It really does sicken me to the bone that all of us that belong to OSF have now lost another (never to be replaced) beautiful unrestored, unmolested mk1 escort (and a genuine RS at that), let alone how the owner must feel. At this guys time of life (no disrespect implied), such a loss could kill him...i wonder if the thieving toerags would then find a conscience to return the car??? I really do dispair at peoples lack of thought and inconsideration to the people involved and the marque itself. These people must be 'into' old fords or they wouldn't go to so much time and effort to steal it...if that is the case, why oh why condemn another one to a worthless pile of junk on some traders autojumble table and the shell to a short rallying life where it will end up wrapped round a tree and gone forever...Just a complete waste of yet another outstanding part of our classic ford history gone for good...Sorry to ramble on, and i for one if i had the money would quite happily double this guys offer of a reward for its safe return just to relieve the anguish this poor fellow must have in his heart right now....This car must be found, and i for one will keep em' peeled in the Brummy area. Dear Sir, my thoughts are with you.....

LaserCapri Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Such a shame especially since its such a rare car and the sentimental value must be huge. Surely there is some info on whats happening to all these loads of em are going missing hav any been recovered?
SebringRS Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 get a tracker i have Saw something on gadget show like tht. Looked really good until i saw the price £550 But i spose there are some out there tht are pretty much the same and probs conciderably cheaper
Savvi Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 I offered members a deal on a tracking system, but by the time you pay subs etc it does add up You can buy cheaper ones but they don't work too well (i've been an independent accessor in 2 cases where the Police found the car by mistake and not by the fitted tracker) the ones i fit also cover abroad so if it did get there at least you'd still find it Unfortunately they don't make the car look nicer or go faster which makes these sort of things last on the shopping list, 1st thing to be left off .......... until something happens to it
