mrt829 Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 I still do race the rotten cortinas and capris, raced a mint mk 1 escort a couple of years ago, strange thing is now i got a mk 5 cortina, mk 1 escort and mk 2 capri now on the road!
red-rum816 Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 we cant wreck all the old fords mate, just the rotten ones but between u and me we have raced some old fords.
Ste-V Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 I raced a capper last year.. And one the year before.. Got a built Mk1 Granny in me garage too
barty109 Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 raced a few grannis, capris and tinas, stick to racin new shape fords now, all hail the mondeo!
spike105e Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 In my day many Cortina's (MK1,2,3&4) ended their lives in my hands at the Arena along with a MK1 3.0 Capri, Mk1 Granada Coupe, Mk1 Escort van and MK1 Transit van. Seems a shame now but in them days they were ten-a-penny and would have gone in the crusher if i had not rescued them for one last blaze of glory. Oh happy days!!!
retrorigg Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 did he get out of the folded up mk2 unhurt, was looking at the drivers compartment but cant even see it,
bortaf Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Big thanks to all who raced old fords Without you lot ours wouldnt be worth as much as they are now (something people forget, especialy when it comes time to sell ) I still regularly send shells to racers after ive stripped em and saved 5 or 6 other cars
retrorigg Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 which reminds me does anyone want a capri shell 2,8 special, ideal banger , £50
mrt829 Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 we cant wreck all the old fords mate, just the rotten ones but between u and me we have raced some old fords. that right mate i race a rotten cortina at smallfield this year it was that bad i hit a primera full length of the straight and broke the gearbox prop and the block it went out in stile but i was a bit sor the next day ha ha
