oddball Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 I had the option today of either stay indoors and do some housework or go on a magical mystery tour with himself and collect a rather well known RS2000 After much consideration [all of 10secs] decided to go along for the ride The sun was shining and the windows were wound right down and we were sitting waiting to go through the Blackwall tunnel, some bloke on a motorbike pulls up beside us and says " thats the the round ones,my dad use to make those and the last one he ever made was this colour. Thought it was a bit rude not to video through the tunnel, shame about the traffic Had a great trip round the m25 too Jo could be getting a few speeding tickets through her door in a few weeks time

deltamal Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 The Saltash tunnel in Cornwall is good to do in 2nd gear with the windows down, 30mph limit with cameras, never sure if they are switched on or not, but sounds good anyway!

Think I'll be tapping Colin up for some engine work next year Mick, the car has only been hibernating this year because I am currently re-training. I have been stuck in an office for 20 years and I am now training to be a driving instructor – I am almost there – only 1 more exam to go – but it has meant that I could not afford to run the RS and pay for my training as well so the RS has been sorn’d for a year . The reason Kev and Ali had it on the road with trade plates is because it has been on a photo shoot all week up in East London courtesy of Fred Transit’s company (A to E Commercials) who supplied to to Adidas for the week for a background scene for their new advertising campaign. Lucky Kev got to pick it up and drive it home for me because I was at work on the day it needed collecting As for Colin and Joe at Ashton Mobile - their work is superb
Mick The Cabbie Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Ah, let ya off then Jo I gather it's quite a tough profession to get into. Well done for coming this far & the best of luck with the final exam!!!!!!! You'll love it I'm sure, especially the new found freedom plus being out & about. I speak from experience, having been shackled & chained indoors for many years & now doing the cabbie thing. Question is, are you gonna be teaching em all how to drive the OSF way????! Great to hear the motors gonna be famous Did they paint 3 white stripes down each side? I've met Col a few times & seen/heard some exellent reports.
