Manny Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 A few pictures of my new wheels ,I used to have 7x13 and 9x13 revolutions. I have swapped them for 7x15 and 9x15 compomotive MLs.
.pete. Posted November 14, 2009 Report Posted November 14, 2009 Love the wheels. Love the car. What is it? Did I see it at Classic Ford this year next to the Life on Mars Cortina?
Manny Posted November 14, 2009 Author Report Posted November 14, 2009 It was at Santa Pod in May this year, and yep it IS a Capri.
Spanner_monkey Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 Great looking car mate. The wheels definatly suit it.
bigglesmk2 Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 I love this, its totally outside of the box
Ste-V Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 Wheels look good, car looks even better! Very nice mate.
over_head_cam Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 Nice m8. They are a perfect fit
retrorigg Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 wow, thats diffrent, love it , the back end looks ace with the roof cut, love the nose too
Admin Vista Posted November 19, 2009 Admin Report Posted November 19, 2009 Nice, what tyres di you use on the 9 x 15's and how do they fit?
Manny Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 They are 225 /50/15 Toyo's They fit really well and went on with no bother. I was going to fit 215/45/15 which would have kept the rear a little lower but I have got used to the way it look's now .
Admin Vista Posted November 19, 2009 Admin Report Posted November 19, 2009 I have some 245/40/15's for my 9J 15" rims but might go for a narrower tyre on the front (9J's all round)
Manny Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 Are they road tyres. I found it hard to get tyres in that size. People told me not to put anything smaller than 225 on a 9in rim . But they went on really easy and still cover the wheel rim , I think a 215 would have looked ok as well. It depends on what make of tyre you use as well ,some stretch a lot easier than others . The Toyo's have a really soft side wall.
Admin Vista Posted November 19, 2009 Admin Report Posted November 19, 2009 Yes they're road tyres, Avon CR500's. http://www.avonracing.com/road_legal_page.aspx 215/45/15's on the front would match the RR on the rears to within 8mm so might be a good choice. They're recommended for between 7 & 8.5J so I'm sure could stretch to a 9J ok
Manny Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 Just looked at them . They have a cool looking tread pattern as well. Wish I had seen them sooner, I struggled to find the right size for mine , I could not find a wide 15in in a 35/40 profile to keep the rolling radius the same. 15in used to be a really popular size .
