... So, I'm waiting at a set of lights on a green light to turn right. I can't move any further forward as there's the yellow hashed area (which you're not meant to stop in).

Along comes Mr white van man, undertakes me up on the pavement and plonks his van infront of my car, in the said yellow hashed area.

It's a shame his manager's number was on the rear of his van.

His boss said this was his last warning (3 of 3) and he'll give the sack tomorrow.

Win.

Made my day.

Glad your pleased mate, with tight deadlines and pressure to produce revenue for the company just to keep the jobs we hate, speed cameras, police, traffic wardens and parking attendants, GPS surveylence, and nagging bosses on our back now we have the general public as well.... nice one, give yourself a pat on the back

oh, and il tell you he wont get the sack, he is doing the job, as far as his boss is concerned its the drivers license he,s risking and mr boss will be laughing all the way to the bank.... van drivers are encouraged to drive like that just to meet demand.

With the current financial climate its drivers everywhere who are suffering and as per fooking normal in this country its the average working white male that gets shafted!

to be honest the van driver sounds like he deserved it, if he cant wait a few more seconds for traffic to move and drives on the pavement to get past 1 car then hes a cock  im sure he wouldnt of gained that much from doing it

I think he deserved it as well. If the manager is telling the truth, he's done it before and will do it again. Driving on the pavement and onto a hatched section of road? TBH with all the CCTV about I would be amazed if he keeps his license anyway.... As for meeting deadlines, if he really really has to drive like that, he won't have his job a lot longer anyway as it's only a matter of time before he gets pulled or caught on camera, or worse. Course, the best bit is he's not doing it in his own van, so if he fooks it up, it's not his insurance or his money that's paying for the repairs.

Sounds like a cock to me too.

If all the drivers drove properly what would the companys do ?

You can only do a days work in a day, if you can't deliver all your shit or whatever in a day without driving like a complete cock then the company is under staffed and they need more drivers .Simple.

Would this not create more jobs up and down the country ?

So all those cocks driving white vans (they are not all cocks) are keeping the unemployment figures up as well as putting pedestrians and other road users at risk, well done

i worked for a major PARCEL company and had to FORCE my drops as any one that nows the W2 area of london will tell you 40 drops in a day in a 7.5 ton is no easy task,

Next time I'm building someones roof and I'm on a tight deadline I'll cut corners and break the law, fook up other people and generally act like a knob and just use the excuse "sorry, my boss is pushing me to do it - Not my fault" See how I get on

So, have i got it right ........ If someone gets killed or injured through the van driver being a TWAT then thats ok as long as he meets his deadline !!

There are children walking along the pavements ffs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers mate, I have given myself a pat on my back.

At the end of the day, if this is the only job he can do. It's his choice to be a van driver and if he wants to drive like a knob, then he can reap what he sows. I was only obeying the highway code. I do ~4,000 miles a month, I get rushed and have time tables to keep to. I don't drive like a twat though.

Anyway, if he hates his job and this is the only thing he 'can do'. He probably should have tried a little harder in school.

Yes, apparently you have got it right, its alright to kill children as long as that office the other side of town gets its box of paper clips before 5 o'clock

not saying its right i never drove on pavements but would park in the middle of the road and block it up and reverse out on to main roads as some of the streets i couldnt get down if i wanted to get through but if you didnt do the right amount of drops your job was on the line

I'm your average white van man and to be honest being on the road all day i see more crazy manouveres from car drivers than i do from the vans . Van drivers seem to be a bit more switched on and aware of their surroundings than your average drivers .

i work for dhl and if our drivers don't get parcels delivered then they go out the next day as a priority, it's not a huge deal and they don't get the drivers to drive like that because they're in big yellow and red vans and i think they'd know who to blame...

btw, i don't care who you are. undertaking up a pavement and into a yellow hashed area means you're an asshole on the road, simple

Well said... we have a lot to concentrate on with comments like "can you get to the job fast" from managers that wouldnt last 5 mins in the world outside the office walls

What the fook has it got to do with colour? What the FOOK?

This thread is about some knob who acted like a c**t and got his just deserts. If you feel that it is OK to break the law and rules of the road and put others at risk and justify it by saying "my boss made me do it" then I certainly feel sorry for anyone who gets in your way on the streets of wherever it is you come from

Sometimes when you work for big companies jo public love complaining even if youve done nothing wrong and these big companies are now siding with jo public,as the customer is allways right!!!!but in this case fair play.
