Yes mate, it's the one we rescued from the barn last year.

 

It been painted and new seat and interior, the guy that owns it runs the so called "top gear technology centre" which is his workshop on my doorstep, he does all the silly builds for the program, he's also got 3 or 4 other mk1's in there which would have been under the sheets you could see in the shots on the program.

 

I helped get it back on the road and took it to some shows but we fell out after him not paying me for a months work helping at the live shows last year.

They should definately do an some OSF themed challenges...each have to:

 

1) Turn up in an OSF.

2) Biggest burnout (round 1)

3) Perform some mods for £200.

4) Biggest burnout (round 2)

5) Take them to the pod for some timed runs.

6) How about some more burnouts (round 3).

They used a local guys Landrover for a so called still shot in a Dvd and had a dummy one to get wrecked ............... only they got them mixed up and he's now trying to get his £15k out of them as his car got wrote off !!!!

 

All they're interested in is blowing things up or wrecking them, personally i think it's ruined the show.

Gotta agree it has started to go a bit stooopid. Top gear is good for laughs, but fith gear was good for proper tests of cars

The same guy used to do 5th Gear, i watched one on Dave the other day where they tried to do 200 mph on a normal road car he told me he got poached and asked to do Top Gear so moved !!!!

if you did the paddock tour after the show it was sat round the back
