GJUK Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 As in the colour. Talk to me about it. I'm thinking about spraying my mk1 escort while it's a bare shell and the more I think about it the more I like the idea of a bright almost neon green. Now I think the green that I've like the most has been on 'Baz's' Mk1 escort. The problem is I'd like a 'period' colour, to suit the car's age and make it a bit more, well, period. So. Does anyone have any photos of 'green' 1970's mk1 escort please? Thanks! Jon
Admin Mk2Jo Posted November 26, 2009 Admin Report Posted November 26, 2009 Baz's mk1 IS a period colour
GJUK Posted November 26, 2009 Author Report Posted November 26, 2009 Baz's mk1 IS a period colour Awesome! What is the colour called please? You don't see many Mk1's in this colour. Thanks Jon

There soon will be i reckon.... il have to go with maize now..no one likes maize. Le mans Green is a rare colour in that not many cars started out in that colour but lots of other coloured cars are now in Le Mans Green. It can be pretty frustrating if you have a genuine rare colour car then every one else starts painting their cars in that colour. Another colour thats over done is Daytona Yellow. Really its always best to stick to the cars original colour.

GJUK Posted November 26, 2009 Author Report Posted November 26, 2009 Le mans Green is a rare colour in that not many cars started out in that colour I can understand that, It's quote 'loud' I guess. but lots of other coloured cars are now in Le Mans Green. It can be pretty frustrating if you have a genuine rare colour car then every one else starts painting their cars in that colour. Why's that?
Twinkle Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 mines java green just to be different, although thats its original colour
dssean Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 mines not lemans green.but very close [/img]
GJUK Posted November 27, 2009 Author Report Posted November 27, 2009 Thats like a mint green. Nice but not quite a zesty as the green I want.
In The Pit Posted November 27, 2009 Report Posted November 27, 2009 but lots of other coloured cars are now in Le Mans Green. It can be pretty frustrating if you have a genuine rare colour car then every one else starts painting their cars in that colour. Why's that? Well if you have a car that is originally in a rare colour (one that wasn't available for long/didn't sell or a special vehicle order) it makes it abit of a rarity something special but if loads of other people all of a sudden think that colour is nice and start painting their cars in that shade it takes away the quirky element of having a rare colour car.
