SmokeEm Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Thats shocking - Even I could get my chicken shit welding to look better
PIG Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 the welding on them dont look bad tbh,the bend into the collector is a friggin joke tho and the flange faces.
Fiesta Steve Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Welding looks fine to me too but that bend into the collector is shocking
jamie k Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 mate had the same thing just the past week go to burton they will get a good set made in a week or so i managed to save almost £300 from them because they quoted me £700 about a year ago and when i phoned they said £1000 so the guy looked at my account nd agreed on £740 deliverd its dear i know but well worth it only prob was although shiney not shiney anough byt i do like to split hairs lol . so had them polished for £40 ill post a few before and after pics . before after i really did try everywere and this is the best so far by miles top work . i know its alot of money either way but take these back and say they dont meet your standards . under trading standards you have a right to a full refund if your not %100 happy and they are nothing to be happy about . any problems with the refund ill talk you through the process no probs mate .
jamie k Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 also just had a thought if you pm me your number i could give burton a call for you and explain the situation and as i just purchased a set last week and see if the guy would be willing to do a deal seen as how i technically got him a sale . to let you know that i know exactally how you feel heres a set a fanny made for me about 6 months ago after t6aking abot 2 years making them . please pm if you would like help it would be no hassel .
petrolhead Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 That is very poor JP, sorry to hear about that. Don't accept that, it is unacceptable as a professionally made performance item. You can see why I made my own after having an Ashley system.
Toby Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 You would like to think if making exhausts was your business you'd make a better job of it than those. Were they cheap? Are there alternatives?
Copey Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 jesus christ, send them back!!! they are a state!!
Jiffer Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 even I can see they are p1ss poor, and all I've got is a builders eye ( he wants it back tomorrow). I now know I wont be going there for my exhaust, which was on the cards. Hope you get sorted mate
Mrs O/H/C Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 I think even a little lead foot could do better !!!
Slammed Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 that is really bad!!get a refund and source a better made set fella!! my cat could do better than that welding on the other pics and my cat is blind, has 2 legs, and 1 ear
filicapri Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Has Chris seen them? Dont like the looks of them mate
Skoty Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 i was gonna get a system from them, dont think i will now. ill prob get better peformance out of my stock system lol
JP. Posted November 30, 2009 Author Report Posted November 30, 2009 Not shure what the meaning is of this kit. Did a try out a few months ago for my suplier in Holland. Special made for left hand drive purpose. RHD one's wont fit. First kit didn't fit and us was ashured a second kit would come in within a few weeks. As we where very interrested we made a deal. Didn't hear from my suplier in a few months and now they are on my doorstep directly from the manufacturer. Have not payed for it yet. Looking at the quality we won't pay for it also. Will test fit it tommorow and contact my suplier what the meaning is of this kit. Have a modifiet Janspeed system ready ( RHD kit converted tot LHD, our steering collumn is on the other side.. ) Was hoping this Ashley kit was better but I am shure stock manifolds will flow better then this. Was hoping for mandrel bend full lenght primaries ( not welded pipes ).
Spotmatic Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 Hi JP, If you want a nice manifold you should try EPS in Hoogeveen. I do also know some other people (in The Netherlands) who can make you a custom manifold witch will be quality. Cheers, Mark
stickerboy Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 That's Ashley for you!!!! Total Crap!!!
Twinkle Posted November 30, 2009 Report Posted November 30, 2009 had problems with ashley myself a couple of times! had to grind the welds back where the flange is welded to the primaries as itwas so bad the manifold nut wouldnt do up, and also bought another system and manifold together to find they were actually different sizes!
