Craigorypeck Posted January 8, 2011 Author Report Posted January 8, 2011 Real smart. Not seen a YB on bike carbs before: which are they, and what's it go like? Zx9r carbs.... They seem to work well in the garage that has my bros car parked outside and went on hols with his keys in his pocket... so, no driving yet!!! rage
Craigorypeck Posted January 16, 2011 Author Report Posted January 16, 2011 First spin done... waow it really flies! Running way way too rich so is really boggy, will fly even more when I get the fuelling sorted.. Them filters are shite tho... 20% more power with them off.
grifterkid Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 That is truly tasty, a lovely car make no mistake... I love the colour of it, really similar to Jupiter Red which was a shade my 1978 3-litre Ghia was in... Well done sir...
qwerty Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Lovely looking car and awesome choice of engine. I've read a few articles on fitting bike carbs that say the individual cone filters don't work very well.
Craigorypeck Posted February 20, 2011 Author Report Posted February 20, 2011 Aye they flow badly Now sorted.
qwerty Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 I know its a really tartish thing to say but I think it looks waaaay better with one big filter.
Craigorypeck Posted February 21, 2011 Author Report Posted February 21, 2011 I think so too... the individual ones were £20, pipercross blank and filter £120
442 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Very nice mate. Tidy and unusual install, very nice work
Admin Vista Posted February 23, 2011 Admin Report Posted February 23, 2011 looks nice whats the specs on the wheels are they 14"s? They are 13" 7J minilites, with 215/50/13 tyres on. It originally had the same size BF Goodrich with raised white lettering and loads of tread left but they were beginning to perish really badly and I was scared of a blowout so I changed them. Harder than you may think finding tyres this size!!! BF stopped making this tyre years ago. These were imported from US by my local tyre dealer whos a big corolla head who has the same minilites as mine. Was thinking of as pair of alleycats at some stage, they are way cooler. Nice car, you can get road legal 215/55/13's from Avon motorsport tyres if it helps in future. They're called the ZZR http://www.avonracing.com/road_legal_page.aspx
Craigorypeck Posted September 30, 2012 Author Report Posted September 30, 2012 more power, supercharger install
2litreScapri Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 Lovely Capri, great to see a great engine conversion
jonyb4 Posted October 3, 2012 Report Posted October 3, 2012 Amazing! id never have even dreamt of a supercharged YB, what a fantastic install, not to mention bike carbs on a custom made plenum!
mark reed ford Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 Best MK111 i have seen very nice car
Craigorypeck Posted October 4, 2012 Author Report Posted October 4, 2012 Cheers for the comms, the fast road na spec was just tame enough to handle some boost, any more cam duration and the boost would be out the exhaust. Must get it built up again as the block was cracked. Balls!
Craigorypeck Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 now sitting on 15s, nice cossy callipers up front to help stop the brute..
jonyb4 Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 seriously stunning what did it take to fit the cossie brakes?
Craigorypeck Posted October 24, 2012 Author Report Posted October 24, 2012 I made adapter brackets, made 5 pair and sold the rest, think were some for sale on here.
