jamie Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 Hi all, My car sits low and I'm looking for a low profile trolley jack. I can get my current trolley jack under the back diff, but the main "body" of the jack hits the anti-roll bar when I try to jack up the front (can jack from the side though). Can anyone recommend a good trolley jack? As for budget, I'll pay what I have to for a good one! Thanks.

D4N Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 We used to just drive the car on to a blocks of wood to get a normal trolly jack under..
nitrousnutter Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 thats all ive ever done with my cappa thats lowered 2 inches at front, just position a couple of short lengths of 4x2 and drive up, you can even cut a slope so they dont pop out when you first drive up as happens to me a bit lol
BaileyMex Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 We used to just drive the car on to a blocks of wood to get a normal trolly jack under.. I cut and stuck two bits of wood together to make a mini ramp for each wheel to get the jack under, work a treat :lo: Cost Nowt
w p e Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 all these blocks of wood work fine until the car don;t drive and then it becomes hard to push on yer own. machine mart ones are fine just remove all bolts and loctite them in
jamie Posted January 7, 2010 Author Report Posted January 7, 2010 Cheers all. Yes, I've been using wood but like you say, pushing the car up takes a bit of effort!
MK5CortinaEstate Posted January 9, 2010 Report Posted January 9, 2010 You could always try a quick lift jacks, like the ones from Rally Design, if you car is seriously low. The little ones only give an 8" lift, but are only 1" tall when down. I am thinking of getting one of these for the Cortina, as I only have 2" clearance under the front subframe. http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=jack&osCsid=vlpbuep836em39flfpt1v0qor2
