Hi Guys,

 

It's doing my head in now - can someone please tell me what this dashboard warning symbol means!!!

 

 

It's off a DAF truck, if that helps!

Coolant? brake fluid? Power steering?

or even air dryer but moor likely to be brake fluid or similar. but you only need to worry about the top 1 because if that comes on don't brake hard

ive not seen that in a lorry b4....im going to take a quess but its prob wrong ....some thing to do with the air line......but you prob already have a air pressure dials

It's not actually mine, but it's a DAF 45 Horsebox...

 

I've never seen anything like it though, and it's grating that I can't work it out!!!

 

Oh, it's yellow by the way

I just found a Daf 45 dashboard on ebay and it doesnt even have that symbol on it.

It's a 1990 I think... I've scoured good old google images and can't find anything like it...

Water drain? from the fuel filter or air tanks ?

My guess would be expansion bottle.

 

I assume its on air brakes so no brake fluid resovoir.

 

One way to check see if there is a sensor on the bottle unplug it and see if bridging the pins brings the light on

Looks like a TV on a wall bracket with a spoiler on top.

looks to me that it could be engine managenemt light, even more so if it is amber in colour?

They are air over hydrulic so they do have brake fluid

 

I look after around 15 DAF 45's of various ages and have not seen that dash type before

 

But it does look possibly like coolent level.

looks like it could be a PAS (power steering) fluid level indicator to me

If you get really stuck, Muttley might know, he's got a lot of truck driving experience from the 80s/90s. My only LGV experience is with Fords.

I have had a word with my mate who works at truck services the daf dealer in grimsby and it is the brake fluid warning light.
