OSFs getting robbed

 

What gets me is that there is a specialised market for these cars and parts so these crimes have to be carried out by an organised gang that A) know where these cars are ..ie in the scene themselves the abuility to get rid of the parts knowing prices (in the scene ) etc.... the sad thing is we all like a bargain and the Bay is gotta be favorite for um. Now these cars/stripped shells are'nt being banger raced they are being sold on back in to the scene either to fellow crooks who dont care of there origins or to us unsuspecting poor bastards using our hard earned.

As read in another post on when two cars were found in liverpool docks....this was an obvious organised crime with a supply and demand chain. so how can we stop this.....

sadly i think its a case of out smarting them and not out punching them but if there is no demand, the supply chain must collapse

i had a mint 1600e stolen 18mths ago police caught them car was in bits in there workshop . good part about it that they got 3yrs jail and the garage where it was being stripped lost there mot status so iam happy that someone paid for my loss only thing i wish i had done was break the barstools legs in a slow way so they felt all the pain

I get so paranoid when sat in house and escort is on drive, Its a bastard when you have to put the car back in the workshop every summer weekend because your that scared some scum thieve it when you sleep!!!! I am constantly on edge and although we all like it when someone admires our OSF there is that bit in the back of your mind wondering if they just want to nick it!!!

Blame the people in the OSF scene who are more than happy to pay for a RS2000 or RS Mexico V5 and VIN plate and bolt it onto any old 2 door shell.

 

There have been people on this forum both selling and buying them

it is a shittttter but what can be done, if you have any sence you will keep your car locked away and ony trust your close freinds with its location, only 3 people on here know where my cars are stored, and i trust them beond belive!

how many people actually fit alarms,imobilisers or trackers to there osf's though. Few of my mates run some very nice escorts etc & they only had alarms & trackers fitted last year after owning them for 8 years + & i had to nag them to get it done aswell i know plenty of people with retro cars worth serious money & they would rather buy bigger brakes or better tyres than a £200 alarm

We can all do our bit by not selling on tags and log books from cars that we have broken, as you can bet most of these end up on stolen cars or on ringers. So if you've broken a car dont think oh I can get £100 for the log book and tags do the right thing cut up the vin plates into tiny peices, snap or cut up the number plates and send the log book back to the DVLA to say the car is scrapped. I'm not sure where OSF stand on the sale of these but most sites and owners clubs do not allow the sale of them. Also be vary wary about buying cars with no id.

to be honest guys, im not sure we will ever be able to stop it. I know its not what anybody wants to hear (and certainly not me having just realised how mych money goes into these for the first time lol) but as long as there are genuine earners with a passion for these cars, on the other side there is always going to be some theiving King scum wantin to make a quick buck. And with the massive rise in popularity for such cars, its worse than normal. I would honestly not like to think that somebody in the scene would organise such a thing but when PLR got done over the other day (round the corner from me) something tells me that they know what these parts are and what they are worth. Disgustin I say. I couldnt do such a thing and I know thats the same for 99% of all you great guys out there ... just wish the last 1% would fook off and die lol

 

(don't think i've offended in that statement but sorry if i have) - just posts like this scare me a little and i wouldnt like to be put in that situation ever!
