a few years ago a nugget would buy ya loads

 

now ya lucky to get two chocolate bars for a squid

 

its mental went into a shop today and bought a can of coke n a mars bar came to £1.45

 

i remember when you used to be able to get a can of drink n a mars bar for 60p

 

and what topped it off was me realising that there is no such thing as a penny sweet anymore thats just wrong when did the idea of 5p and 10p sweets come into the eqaution !!

 

i know its random but isnt it weird how things just go up without any reason

its annoying aint it, but it all boils down to fossil fuels, more lack of

 

all factories need power, products need to be delivered etc and with the price of oil rising the cost of running said things goes up so the price of products go up

then whatever pennies i had i would buy blacks n fruit salads with

 

i left school in 2000 so it would have been 95/96 i expect

 

you would have left school 97/98

 

so yep im old enough

 

if i had a good day n got 2.50 then id get a packet of wrigleys which was 20p then lol cant get for less than 40-45p now if ya lucky

Without crawling into my younger days, just look what happened recently.

 

Remember last couple of years when fuel went up to about £1.30 a gallon?.....then everything shot up in price. The bread makers pleaded poverty and increased their prices. But, when it came down to 95 p (and now going back up), the bread prices have not budged. A loaf of Warburtons seeded costs £1.84 in my local co-op. Well they can swivel, I would rather do without

 

Everything (bread included) also seems to be getting smaller......loaves, chockie bars, and crisps (you now need 2 or 3 packets to enjoy them !)

which when worked out with the average wage today versus the average wage then is about £4 a week lol

you lot are going on about the good old days when fuel cost fook all and what have you the avarage weekly wage for a 42 hour week in 1972 was £17 and a gallon of petrol cost 34p you compair the cost of living now and in 1972 and you are much better of now by a long way
