i would leave it as it so when the bodywork is mint, u can bolt on all the mint parts you'll have ready for it like the wheels next year.

i've got so many parts for mine that i wanted to fit for montha and even years, but have resisted

I always prefer RS 4 spokes (of any size) to steels but your car your choice.

That said, I don't think powder-coating is the best choice for wheels. One chip and it's scrap and you have to strip it all off and start again whereas damage to a single area of a painted finish can be rubbed down and blended in.

There being powder coated and lacquerd aswell,

does that make a difference??:oops:

well they'll be shiney and nice, but if you have a chip in one rim it'll need stripping back and re powdercoating as vista said, basically youre better of getting them painting by the gun or even a rattle can, i have done that on many lotus rims and the finish is second to none if you know what you are doing(prep well)

If anything, it makes it worse. A chip in the lacquer will allow water to get underneath it and bloom white in-between the powder coat and the lacquer. Stick with paint, cheaper and easier anyway.

I powder coat loads of alloys, I am a sign maker with a powder coat oven at work so free tho. The powder will be stronger resisting to chips and if you laquer it is another layer before it chips. I have even powder coated minilights used for rallying on gravel and they last for a good few seasons before we think about redoing them just for a tidy up.. In my opinion powder coat is the better option, but thats just my opinion. Make sure who ever is doing them bakes them in the oven before they apply the powder tho. ensures the alloy has any possible moisture that could be in it taken out. LG

I had an RS2000 very similar to yours about 18 years ago same colour and stripes and had lotus rims on it for many years though i painted my wheels body colour i think the term was "colour coded" back then , so i would go with the steels . i have 3 sets of RS 4 spokes that i dont use as im not keen on them im a steels person ....
