martymk1 Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 yep, think only one was made, wasn't it made for for stirling moss someone else will surely know
Bristol Red Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 Yeah it's a prototype that was never built by Ford, based on the 60's yank T-Bird. Shame it was never made it's a nice looking motor...
spooner Posted January 6, 2007 Author Report Posted January 6, 2007 thought the sterling moss car was a coupe ?
mk14dr Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 if you look closely, you'll notice that its different on the otherside (like an AMC Pacer). It was a design exercise in the early sixties and was rolled out at a Motorshow at Earls Court iirc

Why would you take a 60's thunderbird and totally restyle the back and sides just so it looked like a mk1 cortina. wouldnt it be easier to buy a cortina???? Its gotta be a cortina special. Wasnt the cortina ogle that OHC put up links to a few weeks back built for stirling moss?? http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=30327&highlight=ogle
V8ian Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 If the link works, this is beleived to be Moss`s Coupe, http://pub5.bravenet.com/forum/402547897/show/640156 Ian

Which it didnt seem to have been, however as myself and v8ian suggested, the ogle was. Perhaps I mis-understood what you meant in your original post as I read it as a thunderbird that had been made to look a lot like a cortina, not a cortina prototype/concept that looked a bit like a thunderbird
