thanks again to you all, i know some of my old cars were a bit rough around the edges but at the time they were so much cheaper to come by as long as the mechanics were ok it didnt really bother me what they looked like, the mk2 lotus cost me £750, + it had a 130 elan lump in it + it drove so nice. we actually drove that mk1 cort around with the smack in the front! there is someone on this site that i wont mention who was nicked driving the heap of junk.i still have the pic of the old bill giving him the producer. my red mk2 escort was swapped for a le mans green mk1 mex project which i never finished, but it has since been rebuilt + have been told its lovely. my old green(looks blue on pics)capri is still going strong in wales, when i first lowered it , it was so low i could not even get back off my drive! so i had to raise it up to the height in the pics.

Yes i remember it well it was pitch black dark trying to keep up with the others following a blue mk2 escort driven by one of tonys tj mates who we called pm dawn he made a wrong turn and we both lost the rest of them how they drove that fast in the pitch black of box hill i dont no but they were good days.

Yes definately West Norwood High Street it's a Texaco now, dont remember it as a Chevron Station but I'm a bit younger than you I think.

 

Recognise the area with the lad lying on the bonnet, that's Hawke Road in Upper Norwood. Is the last pic of the Consul Capri there too in front of the new flats? or just a coincidence.

Or more commanly known as Central Hill Estate in Crystal Palace. Thats my old stomping ground. Those pic's are quite rare , cause every car I used to see left out on the estate didn't have any wheels !!!
