Engine block paint

Hi, can anyone reccommend a good Engine block paint? There are so many to choose from and they range in price a lot! I want to paint my Xflow red. A link to a site to buy the stuff would be awesome!

I use POR-15, not cheap but really good.

mate of mine recommends hammerite although never tried myself

Vulcan use Plasti-cote and so far it is fine on my engine. They are available from B&Q and come in a wide range of colours.

I used plasicote also and its holding up nicely on the block, around the exhaust ports it starting to melt abit but thats to be expected.

Ive used Carplan red engine laquer really good stuff and paint a block for under a fiver.

I too have used this with good results, 3 years use and still looked like the day I painted it.

 

The trick with engine painting is to get the engine 101% clean and de-greased. When you think its clean, clean it again !!

i use hammerite, with about 1 part thinners to 4 parts paint, does the job perfect
