peranapete Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Pics of my Perana Capri, which is undergoing a renovation, hopefull I will have it done ready for the summer. Need to get some nice wheels but finding it hard to decide what would look best...any ideas out there? Thanks Pete
Admin Vista Posted January 14, 2007 Admin Report Posted January 14, 2007 My Mk1 3 litre Capri looked really good on 7.5J minilites, but IMHO it's hard to beat the look of the 7.5J X pack Escort/Capri RS 4 spokes. Nice Capri I've always fancied a Perana myself, was it hard to locate and export back to the UK?
peranapete Posted January 14, 2007 Author Report Posted January 14, 2007 Hello, I had been looking for about a year for one, saw a few but they had either been very expensive or non original, there are a lot of Perana lookalikes. When I found this one I was just about to do the deal when the guy I was buying it off had the bailiffs at his door due to the ex-wife, then the I was dealing with them, then 18months later he got it back, and the long and short of it...3 years later (last year) I eventually ship it back. Shipping is fairly straight forward. It had no interior and a few other bits missing.. now after searching high and low Im eventually getting it together. New suspension, brakes, full interior, The shell is very solid. Im getting there. I cant wait to get it on the road. Shipping was about £1800.00 then I had the duty £2k. Thanks Peter
peranapete Posted January 15, 2007 Author Report Posted January 15, 2007 As you can see its still very much work in progress, I have no recent pics but will take some in the next week or so. Im trying to get my head around this photobucket so fingers crossed they work. The car sounds great and should be ready to roll in the next 2 months...fingers crossed. Thanks
Rude Dog Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Thats looking absolutely fantastic mate. Cant wait to see some finished pictures of it. What sort of power will that be a the hubs when rebuilt? Whats the interior like? Have you had to replace much on it? Got any more rebuild/respray pics? As for wheels its gotta be 4 spokes

105Nick Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 I'd love a Perana, I think it would suit 7x13 Supalites with graphite grey centres, not on low profile rubber though. Nice one mate, can''t wait to see that at some shows
