Left for 40 years 4000miles from new!!

A bloke took hes car into lotus 40years ago!! as compression was low on 1 exhaust valve the car was compression tested and stripped down & fixed and the bloke immigrated to another country sadly he was tracked down and he moved away as he had cancer he died abroad recently a friend of mine purchased the car he only wanted the shell so i got a chance to own the engine but im gonna use the lotus over my yb cosworth now in the car the clocks was showing 4000miles!! engines not seized and turns over freely but will be getting rebuilt to a high standard what do you think........

I think I woudl rather have a cossie engine, unless you're building a proper historic car down to every nut and bolt etc.

i couldn't decide if i made the right decision but its to late now lol ive got a cossy engine in bits what im gonna build up in the future wont be no where near the spec my other one was but i carnt have everything it will be like a histroic race car spec when finished if i can still get some of the parts lol

Well you just said it all! must be a nutter! Dam good job getting the engine out of it if he is that mad he might have scraped it lol, a lotus with those miles and owners must be worth 35-45k restored
