ZetecVan 2.0 Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Tell us why you don't like the new forum.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted March 1, 2011 Admin Report Posted March 1, 2011 I think I may just lock this thread as we don't want any replies in here Just kidding guys ... it is your forum and we welcome CONSTRUCTIVE comments but please, please, please give yourself a little time to get used to the new format before posting your views, thank you all
Toby Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 The new scratch and sniff screen stinks! Appart from that good job Mike
D-FENS Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 On the old site if you put your cursor over a post you could read the last reply but its not working on the new site yet .
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 On the old site if you put your cursor over a post you could read the last reply but its not working on the new site yet . It's on the list...
D-FENS Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Thanks for the quick reply Mike ,I for one am very grateful for all the work that you have put in Just wondered how can i change the style/colour thing now that the style thing on the left that has been mentioned has gone .
Admin Vista Posted March 3, 2011 Admin Report Posted March 3, 2011 Hate is too strong a word, getting used to it and finding where everything is now so all is good with me. One observation: The short cut: "View your posts" is available all the time Whereas: "View unanswered posts • View unread posts • View new posts • View active topics" disappears as soon as you enter a particular forum / room Can these short cuts be moved up a level alongside view your posts so they're available all the time?
Retromotorsport Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Re the cursor over post showing last comment... could this be re-instated but showing first post. Seeing " that looks great " or " thumbs up " when the tite of the post is ' what do you think ' isnt helpfull, you open the post and its a users new pair 13mm spanner or his new dog ... great for them, but ... If it had on the first post " what do you think about my axle links, are they correct " or " can this be cut out and repaired " I would then look at it, at the moment unless it has something relevent to me in the title i dont look.

samurai Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Less scrolling up and down would make me happy
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 Re the cursor over post showing last comment... could this be re-instated but showing first post. I'm looking at an option that will allow that. But it will depend on what everyone wants. First or last.
Admin Vista Posted March 3, 2011 Admin Report Posted March 3, 2011 First makes sense to me Mike as it gives an idea of the thread content before you open it.

Mrs O/H/C Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Just to be difficult I like to be able to read the last post just by scrolling over it

It bugs me aswell! If I see that I normally change the topic line to something that makes sense.
Posse Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 There is going to be some more changes tonight and everything that has been said will be sorted
Trevmk3 Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 put a couple of things in the contributor room Mike before i saw this so look there
escort21 Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 I wont be on here that much now as the new forum takes 5mins to load each page at work.....lifes to sodding short
Mrs O/H/C Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 The only browser i found worked to get the pages to load quicker was google chrome as my normal browser was just too slow for this high tech forum
Admin Vista Posted March 3, 2011 Admin Report Posted March 3, 2011 The only browser i found worked to get the pages to load quicker was google chrome as my normal browser was just too slow for this high tech forum I already use google chrome and if anything this forum is faster than the old one.............with the exception of when you post on a thread, then there's a few seconds delay before it comes back to the thread you've just posted on.
over_head_cam Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Normal speed for me, Firefox loves it The first or last page on the hover thing doesn't bother me, I open most posts anyway to see what it's about
