morcheen Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 it's the ones that say 'made in taiwan' you have to really worry about
Admin Vista Posted March 18, 2011 Admin Report Posted March 18, 2011 ..and they talk with a different accent But both will insist on taking a Siesta in the middle of the day just when you need the lazy B'stards to work or at least answer the phone!
escort21 Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 I bought a set of spanish 45s and they were full of swarf on the inside, castings are a pile of poo, Italian all the way
w p e Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 the spanish ones work just aswell after a couple of hours cleaning out the internals but the rough cast is very cheap and poor looking but hopefully as weber are now back in italy we might get a desent carb again

w p e Posted March 19, 2011 Report Posted March 19, 2011 i sold kev a set of webber 50.s proper ones, back in the summer months last year.has he put them to good use yep in the box's on the shelf collecting dust
Col-ashtonmobile Posted March 20, 2011 Report Posted March 20, 2011 yeah if i remember the carbs mk2jo bought were the first batch of spanish ones after weber went back after the strike and then closing down for a 2 weeks holiday i had a major problem with the floats being all being wrong and not sort of fitting/working properly , it seemed like the whole carbs had just been thrown together, the couple of sets i,ve bought in the last few months have been ok and they seem to have smoothed out the rough casting , the only thing i dont like is the poxy locking wire holding the choke securing bolts in i seem to stab myself everytime on it as its as sharp as a fooking needle
