slimrs Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 how many cars are you allowed to own and have at your home, i dont mean on the road outside, on your drive, in your garage and off the public roads. getting alot of grief from the neighbours and they have reported me for running a car repair business from home! ive had a week off work so ive been sanding and grinding in the garage in the day time untill evening 6 o clock ish. and now they are moaning about the noise aswell. i thought as long as you wernt taking the mick and making too much noise late or early then you were fine. im fuming, they havent said a thing to me but i keep getting letters from the council saying that they are getting complaints from the people next door.
Wessie Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 well we've got 4 on our drive, 3 on the road and one in the neighbours garage
slimrs Posted January 19, 2007 Author Report Posted January 19, 2007 mine are all on my drive, so im not taking up space on the road. no one is struggling to park anywhere and they are all in my name
Trevmk3 Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 ask the council what you are supposed to of done wrong, because as far as i can tell you aint doin anything wrong
Hilux Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 as long as you can prove your the owner and its a hobby, theres not a great deal they can do about it as long as the noise made doesn't go on late at night.
Wessie Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 doesnt sound like youre doing anything wrong

Guest M.Bird DOHC Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 m8, do you own your house or rent it from the council? Cos if you own it then they can go get knotted! Its only if they can prove your running a business from it that there maybe trouble but other that that forget about it! And if you fancy 15-20 OSF's and OSFer's turning up for a street meet then just plonk it up in the meets section!

Cookie Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Had all this abouy 5/6years ago from my neighbours, back in my heyday of not giving a fook the louder the better at stoopid o'clock in the morning Had allsorts up here rs500 rep, cav sri,ren 5 gt turbo and a mk2 fiesta turbo conversion, not including the transit, bikes and the daily runner. I was accused of running a business etc, no-one would believe that they were all mine, there was this right old battle axe from 3 doors down was always up the drive moaning (never her husband cos she wasa the scary one ) always remeber her coming up the drive with steam coing out of her ears after I had been doing burnouts in the sierra, saying im reporting you again for running a business here blah, blah blah, i said no i'm not go away(polite version!) she said you must think I'm green! As me and my mate almost pissed ourselves after she realised she was wearing a bright green coat!

MK5 Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 been there, done that, got the T shirt. my ex had 4 cars on the drive, 1 in the garage and 5 in the back garden. neighbours reported him to the council for running a business and for having rats!! he had to get rid of most of the cars turned out the rats lived under the neighbours decking!! one thing to note is that any formal complaint is recorded against your property and has to be declared when you sell. this might make selling difficult - after all who wants to move next to people that like stirring trouble
james p Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 wev had sh#t down my road at one point me and dad owened 16 cars beetween us lol it happens . let em complain keep recipts for every thing you buy and sell (to show your not after a profit etc ) and carry on as you are if they try to take /move the cars change em into someone elses name and lose it for a week or too
