Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Mate, as it's your own house, tell them to get knotted. As has already been said, keep the noise to within certain hours. I genuinley do count myself lucky for having very understanding neighbours. If they should have a problem, and that is a very big if, they will always knock on my door and talk to me face to face, and not hide behind council wallers. BTW, we have 3 cars on the road, 3 in the back garden plus my motorbikes and a garden that looks like the bomb squad have been playing in
Pipster007 Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 My bank manager has told me, I can't have any more
atomic punk Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 I can have as many as I like, as long as I can still pay for the mortgage, food, bills, insurances etc. Thats why I only have 1 on the road and one tucked away. The only complaint I had was after I changed a head gasket and started the car & revved it hard.... poor old dear's window was wide open and she got a lungful of noxious fumes
slimrs Posted January 19, 2007 Author Report Posted January 19, 2007 thanks peeps feel a little better now, was begining to think i was a neighbour from hell, lol. they havent once knocked on the door and said anything to my face and thats whats anoying me more. trouble is alot of people see osf's as old bangers and probably always will
over_head_cam Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 If I was told by the council before I bought my house that I couldn't have an un-taxed vehicle on my drive Looked on the tennancy agreement, and sure enough: "...does not allow un-taxed motor vehicles on council owned property..." - c*nts

groomers Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 ive got a special c**tstable living opposite me has oly ever had the balls to come face to face to me once when i was ripping engine out, i had boot open i was under bonnet and he walked down drive and slammed boot as hard as he could (he's a fat b*stard as well) scaring crap outta me so i went ballistic at him! he's apparently reported me for running business, parking on council owned grass that me and dad maintain, parking in road, having too many cars and being an eyesore! his house has never been repainted, has wooden window frames that are about to collapse, he has a dead mk3 escort in his garden his wifes escort on drive and his doggy landrover parked in road right opposite neibors drive on a bend! havent heard any complaints for a while but wouldnt have minded if he asked me to quieten down, he also told me he had as much right to be on my driveway as me (i live with parents who own house with no morgage so i cant see him legally having any rights?) sorry but he really gets on my tits!

Admin Vista Posted January 20, 2007 Admin Report Posted January 20, 2007 If I was told by the council before I bought my house that I couldn't have an un-taxed vehicle on my drive Looked on the tennancy agreement, and sure enough: "...does not allow un-taxed motor vehicles on council owned property..." - c*nts I never knew that! wonder how they'd feel about my untaxed car in the garage I rent from them? Back to the thread topic though. I prefer to get on with my neighbours, whilst it may be a drag to you having them rag you about noise. Try to see it from their point of view too. How would you feel if one of them played incredibly loud music all day but kept to the prescribed hours so there was nothing you could do about it? I'm not saying don't work on your car, we all do that and we all need too, just try and keep it down and see both sides of the problem.
