Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 I know what it's like, I had to sell my first Capri because I lost my job and couldn't afford to insure it. It was insured as a 1.6LS for third party only at £1652 - I was 21 at the time. Now though is a different story. My 2.8i Capri AND the Angry Box, £360 fully comp for the pair

stestu001 Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Am not that old but mine was £213 tpft on my mk1 fiesta which is quite good compared to the £1300 quotes I was getting on a 1L nova when I was 18 (think I must have banged my head hard or something to want a Nova though) it was £28 extra for breakdown cover as well which came in usefull on christmas eve when my alternator packed in on the ford road outside where they used to make the escorts!
Mr Sam Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 fingers crossed mine will drop below £500 this year u must be dreamin lol i was doing quotes a few weeks ago managed to get £460, im gonna try for classic policy this year though
MK5 Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 Essex Boy has just insured his 1.1 MK1 Fiesta for £90 with Lancaster Nina, my 2.3 Cortina is insured with More Than for £150 as a daily driver TPF&T

Jelly Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 I got a quote on your Granny for £2000, Sumo.. And yet a Capri with the same engine (and lighter) cost around £1100 Would of had that if it wasn't so bloody ridiculous (edit: insurance that is )
72mk1escort Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 I got quoted £1850 on my 1100L MK1 escort (not exactly a boy racers car ) I then put my dad down as a main driver and me as a named and it was £862 so thats the way to do it I was mainly feeling the water for when i pass my practical and i was a bit shocked really i thought OSF's would be cheap on insurance Blood loada crap if you ask me
GJUK Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 My Focus ST170 £330 fully compMy 'box £123 full comp I love being old 1998 Mondeo...£248 fully comp 1985 Granada ...£134 fully comp I remember when I was 19 and had a 3.0 v6 omega, cost £1200 FC which i thought was good. T'was classed as an 'old mans' car i guess. The mk2 escorts I had were never that expensive to insure, about a grand or so.
