Does anyone know who makes a stainless pinto manifold?? I see Ashley do a stainless system but not a manifold ?? Unless I am completely wrong!!!

Powerspeed manifolds in Ashford, Kent.

Drop your car off and let them do all the work !!

I spoke to a man who had these do him a system and i believe it was very pricey in comparison to the 105 speed items

You are going to pay more for a one off custom built manifold rather than a mass produced off the shelf item that you hope will fit and then have to spend the day skinning your own knuckles.

You also have the added benifit of having the manifold built to your specification, diameters and lengths that suit you and your engines needs rather than a a bunch of pipes that is expected to work with every engine ??! It' will never outperform a custom manifold, all it will do is save you maybe £100 and you'll still have the ballache of having to fit the thing.

I believe the 105 speed manifolds used to be made by Powerspeed a while ago and are now done by Piper , speaking from experience and from people I know that have bought them the fit is spot on

Obviously if you're looking to wring every last horsepower from your engine then a custom made manifold built to suit your engine spec would be preferable , but for a 'generic' manifold that performs and fits very well I don't think you can go far wrong with a 105 speed item in terms of price and quality

cant recomend 105 spd enough... First off when u take it out of the wrapping it looks like a piece of art, second it couldn't fit any better and third it freed up a few extra ponies on my car...

for the pinto u have a choice of 2 manifolds.. One large bore and second on is not as large and also will work with your servo... Here's mine fitted (large bore)

I don't doubt the quality of the Piper manifold but from a performance point of view (that is why we buy these things, isn't it ??) anyone fitting any 'off the shelf' manifold is throwing away pontentially a lot of horsepower. Most of us spend quite a lot on our engines, why throw it away at the last hurdle.

I recently tested a few manifold designs on an engine dyno and was very surprised how just a small difference in design effects the performance of an engine and this comes a few years testing 'off the shelf' manifolds against custom manifolds on a rolling road and being absolutely amazed at the power that was obtained.

Thanks guys for the input.I am now really confused who to get one from!!!! What is the price for a stainless manifold and stainless system???

all depends if you want to set some new landspeed records or like the look of them :) got a 105 speed twink one myself, mainly for the looks and rust free future

Most us just want a quick easy solution. I certainly cant be bothered to fanny about transporting an exhuastless car to a custom fitter. For quick and easy solution, 105 speed -just bought one for my Corsair.

If i was intent on squeezing every last hp out of a specially built engine I would indeed have a custom built one, but for the majority, off the shelf items are the way to go.

Of interest it shows these prices below from the 105Speed site ;

Small Pinto Stainless Steel 4 into 1 Exhaust manifold MkII £260+VAT

Large Pinto Stainless Steel 4 into 1 Exhaust manifold £275+VAT

Escort Saloon Stainless Steel 2" Exhaust System Pinto £275+VAT

Escort Saloon Stainless Steel 2.25" Exhaust System Pinto £285+VAT

And here http://www.jreracingproducts.com do a 'full race' Stainless manifold for the Pinto + they do ex.systems too but there stuff is pricey in comparison with 105Speed so you would expect better performance I would of thought depending on your engine spec ofcourse as it mentions them being Dyno proven !

You will find many other Good S.Steel Exhaust builders out there like Haywood & scott, Tony law, RS Fabrications etc to name a few but usually budget dictate things in the end. Lovely they are on the eye and ear though so if you can afford to go S.Steel get it done fella from where ever and it will normally come with a long guarantee
