In my eyes I’m pretty sure maggie thatcher was the start of the fook ups and lots have tried to pick up the peaces but failed?

 

Hmmmmmm, I know there are plenty of reasons for large numbers of people in the country to hate Maggie (miners for instance, even though their real enemy was masquerading as their friend, i.e. Scargill). But much like Cameron, she had to pick up an awful mess with an economy in ruins and much of the countries work force out on strike. During labours winter of discontent in 78/79 every one from Binmen, Firemen, tanker drivers and even grave diggers were out on strike

 

Gotta agree with scott , i dont blame Maggie as she had untold crap that needing sorting when she took over and yeah why they listened to Scargill is beyond me , plus a war where she had no help at all with decision making but we managed to come out on top , and also now i agree with Bailymex they all talk crap and not one of them installs confidence in me as to the way the country should be run for the best....

gotta say its the wettest drought ever at the moment ..... or is that down to the goverment aswell not realising that another 3 million immagrant people in our country actually need to wash , drink , eat and shit on top of 99.9% opening car wash's using our reservoir supplies ??? without building more reservoirs ?

The one thing i would like to do is put one of these so called polititions in the situation that they put there nation in and drag them out of there big house and make them live in southall,aldershot,bethnall green,lewisham etc etc or any other large area that has been taken over by immagrant people and just see how long they last there without having the same veiw as everyone else in the country about immgrants, i feel that im doing wrong walking through certain places now walk down aldershot highstreet and you get looked at as if you are in the wrong.

It is precisely because we all enjoyed the years of "spend spend spend with no regard for where it was coming from" under the labour government that we're paying the price now.

 

Free car tax is available on ANY car that falls into a low enough CO2 band. The fact that Lexus have managed to get a luxury car into that bracket is an engineering credit to them but has nothing to do with the current government. Especially as it was Labour that set the CO2 banding and duty rates in the first place. Only Tory's can afford expensive cars, where do you get that statistic? Last time I checked, there was no "Tick box here for political persuasion" when buying a new executive car. I don't see any poor Labour MP's, do you? I also doubt very much that everyone in the country with any wealth is automatically a Conservative voter.

 

Me? A Tory guy? Not really. I have voted for them in the past and admittedly did so this time. But in the past I've also voted for Labour and Lib Dems on different occasions, my vote being given according to who I think is offering the best package for the country as a whole and not just one element of it ( i.e. poor / rich / British born / immigrant communities / welfare society / business etc etc).

 

It is unlikely I will end up living on a council estate but that has nothing to do with my voting or my family background (i.e. I'm not from a wealthy one at all) and a lot to do with years and years of hard work. But if I needed to and it was the only option open to me then I would and would be grateful to still have a roof over my head. Hardship? In some of the countries I've visited, I've seen and experienced more hardship than most people in the UK will ever know. I'd be interested to know how you define hardship Steve?

I'm an Immigration Officer of 20 years (que death threats) and our department has been affected too. You may have seen the news, long queues at Heathrow, three hour waits etc etc. Well, it's a balance isn't it. We've lost 25% of staff to voluntary redundancy offered to cut numbers by the Tory Government, hours cut to save overtime payments, but are still expected to admit and remove people as before........ all this before the Olympics, take my advice and travel way before or after the games!!!

 

Picking up a few points on Immigration matters discussed here, one of the first things I trained on years ago is historical migration. Thousands of years ago advanced infastructure was only possible because of the vast number of slaves brought in to do the work a prosperous nation refused to do themselves!!! Over time, they had families of their own and so settled into that way of life. Friends and family saw the benefits and quickly followed........ this story speaks for itself and brings us to current day. Every country needs to embrace skills, materials and money from abroad, we wouldnt survive without it. What the argument SHOULD be is more restriction on numbers, with adequate staff to enforce it

as opposed to an NF/BNP attitude.

 

I also totally agree with Vista, Labour made such a balls up, massive cuts are necessary, any responsible government should see this. Let's face it, it's like a parent telling us to stop spending until we are flush..... we all know they are right, but we just don't want to do it!!!!

Something like: Blame labour knobs, they spent all our money so now we're broke and some one else has to pick up the pieces. Threw all our dosh away on wasters and immigrants and now we have to pay for it. In fact I might say something like:

And what have interest rates got to do with the Government (whoever is in power) anyway? Free car tax for the rich? Well that's already been proved a myth. Why would they want to keep people on low income? It's in any elected governments interest for average earnings to rise across the board so that they can raise more in taxation. Gas / electricity prices, again, nothing to do with the government.

 

Get these twats out? By all means, vote them out. Who are we going to have instead? Chinless wonder Milliband and his gormless side kick Balls (up)? I think Ciderman and Brown Bottle would make just as good a go at running the country.

It doesnt matter what a nerd millaSINGH looks ,Labour are for the workers ,Tories are not and it shows .Tories are forcing wages down with privatisation Private firms pay way less an hour but pay the share holders more,For what? How exactly is everyone on here my best mate then? Of some 11000 registered users I have met but a handful. Just because users don't agree with you doesn't automatically mean they agree with me, perhaps most of them find politics boring?

 

Anyway, my opinion may not be all right but neither is it all wrong, I can see the pros and cons of their approach whilst you appear unable to see anything that you don't wish to see. Choosing instead the "labour are the workers party so therefore they must be great" approach to politics. The truth is that they haven't really been a proper workers party since the ill fated days of the unelectable Michael Foot in the early 80's. I'm also well aware that the Conservative party have their faults, they just happen, at the moment, to be a better option than the party that both preceded them and the new lot that sit in opposition.

 

Tories are forcing wages down by privatisation? OK you mean they're discharging the tax payer of the responsibility for funding loss making entities from the public purse? Good on them I say. Excepting truly national issues like the road network, NHS, Welfare and Defence, why should the tax payer subsidise things? A profitable company will look to expand and employ more people, whereas typically a state owned top heavy quango will just sap funds that could be better spent elsewhere.

 

If I lose my job one day, it won't be the elected Government I blame, whom ever are in power.
