caprigary Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 Has anyone else had crap service from burton power. I bought a Kenlowe fan kit from there website with the capillary thermo but they sent me the elec one instead, thats the one the probe goes thru the rad fins. They refuse to send me the correct item until I send them the incorrect item first. You would think they would put customers first and send out the correct item asap, they deny that they sent wrong part out even though on there website its the capillary fan you get and no mention about you get the elec one instead. It seems to me they just take your money and then dont give a f**k about you afterwards. Is it just me that isnt happy about there attitude.
5tox Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 Usually Burton has a good reputation, cant say ive ever had a problem, but saying that i did read another similar thread recently slating burtons customer service so your not alone. to be fair though id be reluctant to send out another until i had the original back, you should not be expected to foot the bill though posting them back
nik_plant Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 Burtons fooked me around with a pedal box, I rang up and checked twice I was buying an orginal ford converted one, they said yes converted one will be sent out. When it's turns up its a aftermarket one, i rang them and there answer was; we didn't have the one you want so we sent you this one. I sent it straight back for a refund and they wouldn't pay the postage. I've been told if you go there and deal with them there helpful, but I've never been yet
marky4 Posted July 5, 2012 Report Posted July 5, 2012 up until now i have always found them to be good but last week placed an order for manifold gasket online never turned up rang them no record wtf so re ordered on phone last friday they promissed to send 1st class monday morning as of mid morning today still no sign of it

w p e Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 ring them and ask to speak tho manegment and complain chris and barry are good lads the rest are just school levers who know fook all ask to spaek to andy burton and give it to him how his staff are crap
PCOE Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I have always had good service from them however when I know exactly what I want and a guy there says 'Na mate you want this one' I get the ump! as in my experience so far, I've been given the wrong part and the correct part is the one I originally asked for!!!!
Mrs O/H/C Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I have to say that I order a fair bit from Burtons. But recently I ordered some parts and they sent the wrong items, sent them back (recorded). Waited a few weeks for the replacements to no joy. Rang them and they claimed that they had not received them. Then suddenly 2 days later I had a parcel with the replacements,so all along they did have them !!
Tall paul Posted July 6, 2012 Report Posted July 6, 2012 I never have a problem there, but I always go in and see Barry or Paul sarg, never had to mail order from there tho so couldn't comment on that
rallyesport04 Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 ive used burtons a fair bit over the years ive never had a prob if i have ordered the wrong parts or incorrect parts have turned up they have always took them back an sent me the correct ones as soon as they recieve the parts i returned an when ive been unsure of what i need they have been very helpfull
GJUK Posted July 7, 2012 Report Posted July 7, 2012 two ordered recently. Both with 'next day delivery'. Never turned up the next day, when I phoned they said "well we were busy, we're trying but sometimes we can't do next day." Kick up a fuss and you get your shipping refunded however
JP. Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 Yess I had issues with them to. Chris is the one to talk to as he knows his stuff and he also does what he promisses. He's not always there. Andy, won't deal with him again. Does promise a lot but doesn't do it at all. Tell him later and he won't remember at all. They where the no 1 company for me, now they close the list for me. . At some point their vision is changed the last few years to a more internet based shop and less customer suported bussiness.( according to ex personal too). . I am still a customer.
fatboycharlie Posted July 8, 2012 Report Posted July 8, 2012 iv had the same orderd a fuel pump for next day and it took 3 days i normaly go in there and deal with chris hes allways helpfull even knocked a few quid off
James HPE Motorsport Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 We have stopped using them now unless we absolutely have to! My dad has literally spent 10's of thousands in there and from time to time, he still gets treated like an idiot! Chris is the best person to speak to, agreed, but most people know that now so he is sometimes quite difficult to get hold of!!! As far as I am concerned, they went downhill the minute Altay left! There was nothing that guy said he would do, and then didnt! And on the rare occasion a part got delivered that was wrong, it was sorted quickly!!! Like Wayne says, the new generation of staff have not got a clue! Burtons are not doing themselves any favours and their prices are getting beyond a joke!!!
James HPE Motorsport Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 Someone should send them a link to this thread. I doubt it would make any difference, Andy Burton is too thick skinned!
MK2Ed Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 Up until recently they were OK, then I was sent a wrong part, the guy wanted to have an argument about it, I wanted a different type, thought shit customer service so sent it back and ordered elsewhere with no grief.
JP. Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 As far as I am concerned, they went downhill the minute Altay left! !!! Thats spot on.. and so true... Altay was the man to do business with. Everytime I went to England & visited Burton I just waited till Altay was available. . I have spoke to Altay by coincidence while I was in England and he's a science teacher now. And although he had a much better salary at Burton, he has much more fun in his current job( & and more vacation days...
One Duffy Collard Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Never had a problem with them, infact they've been excellent with me. I've sent back the wrong parts (My fault, incorrect order) and exchanged it without question. They've even phoned me to check on an order, International number, to check that the quantities where correct. Always find the prices competitive as well. Always deal with Paul Sarj though, he's seems to know what he's on about. And considering you're dealing with people from Essex, makes the service even more impressive!!!
w p e Posted July 14, 2012 Report Posted July 14, 2012 go in the store and ask anyone of the so called FORD TUNING GURU'S a proper tech question and the whole store goes quite because the answers not on the screen in front of them. bring back brian/john/tony merry.dave /charlie. and send the kids out to play
gjh Posted July 14, 2012 Report Posted July 14, 2012 Quite a few people slate them on other forums, saying the service is crap and they don't know how to build an engine to save their lives. Don't have any personal experience with the company mind.
w p e Posted July 14, 2012 Report Posted July 14, 2012 there engine builders guy turner, [ a sales man ] lol look him up in there catalog
willsy Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 I'm assuming they won't be sponsoring the site?
Col-ashtonmobile Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Joe & me were in there a few years ago and had a discussion about factory rev limiters , and the numpty said the sierra cosworth was the first car to have one , i said no it was,nt , he argued tooth and nail it was until the next time i went in and showed him a rev limiter fitted to a 1966 cortina engine i was building he had second thoughts , i,ve known Chris since our santa pod days and he,s a great guy we talk for ages when i,m there as he,s a v6 lover like me , Altay was also top man & Barry looks after us when in there , we tend only to order small items on mail order ...
