Went in to get a jacking point welded and it needs the floor and other parts doing so the jacking point can be welded to something solid :sad::sad: ..gonna cost me :sad: christ its depressing...

Opened the rear door of the Granny this morning , found a 2 inch by 5mm long hole by the rear wheel arch...... :roll:

Sorry to hear that matey! I think most of us have been there with the "never ending story" type problems. You know, do one thing, then find out something else has to be done first!!! :evil:

 

I have had my fair share with the Capri recently, but hopefully tomorrow will finally be the end of my suspention probs!

Thats the joys of the marque we drive! Still, it'll be like the 6 million dollar man when its done....better....faster.....stronger!

Got the car back, gonna go for an mot to see what it fails on and then get it sorted :sad:

Found a plate siliconed to the floor pan with a hole underneath it :sad:

m8 i had the same with the twink. was gonna cost £1000 for the welding to be done in labour alone!!

 

 

went out and bought a welder £200

grinder £20

panels £100

 

satisfaction of doing it myself.....

 

 

 

....................priceless :D

 

seriously m8 borrow a welder chat to people and get tips and practice on scraps of metal and when you are confident attack the car 8)

just do it anyway!

 

of make yourself a little area where you can weld on the street. get one of them beach wind break things and prop it up so they cant see what your doing :wink:

Sorry to hear about this.. you know you can use my drive anytime if you want to do some welding.. as long as you can put up with my spanner bouncing :lol:

I just bought my self a welder on tuesday iv been practicing on scrap tin at work fooking sparks everywhere but im getting there . :D

 

You could practice on Tims car, the way he is talking its scrap :beat::beat::smilieguys:

Seriously Tim, if you get stuck I have a welder at home,

Nelly, your spanners bounce up and down your drive so often the neighbours now think they noise comes from wind chimes :shock::shock::shock:

Thanks Ian and Nelly. Going for the mot on friday to see what its gonna need, then its going to my welder guy to sort. Can't believe some dumbarse would mastic plates on...what a prat :evil:

you never know whats lurking under the underseal until its all stripped off............................... I have had in the past filler / fibre glass / tissues / all sorts stuffed in holes in previous OSF......

my Cortina had 2 small holes where the bonnet supports go... on investigation these had been repaired with the foil from a cigarette packet!!
