Savvi Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Well im sure most of heard by now but it seems in the budget today that they have extended the free road tax cut off date to 1974 !!!!! So hopefully we will have a few more cars coming out when the change starts !!!

But now its all good Anyone know when the update comes into effect? as i think my tax runs out end of this month or next.

You posted after the conversion process onto the new database had begun. This isn't simply a forum upgrade, it's a completely new operating system so the whole database (840000 posts plus all the sigs,, profiles, attachments etc) had to be converted to a new format. It took most of the day. It's also why most people will have to sort new avatars

Like most things in the budget, it doesn't come into effect immediately but rather from 2014 so you'll have to wait till next year. Bit strange how they only advance it by one year, let's hope it's because they intended reintroducing it on a rolling basis come 2014 when the cars are 40
stuartp Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 yeah i looked a bit closer after i posted that - so this tax disc should now take me right up to my free one next april still gets a small YAY from me and I too hope they put back the rolling exemption although they will be killing our engines with 10% ethanol soon so it might all be a waste of time
