Mickey Stewart Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 Does anyone know if these wheels will fit my MK1 RS2000, I have a complete standard set up on the car: Wheels are: Type: RS 4 SPOKEColour: BLACK MACHINED FACESize: 7.5 x 13PCD: 4-108Offset: ET -19Fitment: FORD
frankthefencer Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 I bought the same in 7" width . I don't think they will fit as the ones I bought only just go under. Also those ones have a big offset.
SmokeEm Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 By the lord of god I hope they do - Fooking gorgeous wheels. Next to american racing mags, those are the doggies danglies
Admin Vista Posted April 7, 2013 Admin Report Posted April 7, 2013 No they won't., not without modifications to the car or/and wheels anyway. You'd have to fit silly profile narrow tyres to prevent fouling of the arch lip, especially on the rear and then lower it massively because the silly profile tyres leave such a huge gap to the arches. Here's some photos of a set I trial fitted on mine a few years ago as they were for sale locally
Admin Vista Posted April 7, 2013 Admin Report Posted April 7, 2013 Lol, Carlos Fandango stylee I haven't seen that in a while
theloudboy Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 They can be fitted but its alot of work my fav wheel on a mk1 or mk2 but they won't go straight on as vista said.
32evo Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 Put a tape on your drum / hub face and measure out the outer wheel arch these wheel rims will end at 127mm, i was going to try them on mine but opted for 7x13 with 185/60 tyres
Mickey Stewart Posted April 7, 2013 Author Report Posted April 7, 2013 This is how it sits at the moment, I think it looks horrible the way it sits standard, any recomendations
32evo Posted April 7, 2013 Report Posted April 7, 2013 Lovely car you have there. What size wheels/tyres do you have at the moment? Here is mine with 7in Revolites (ET-7)fitted with 185/60 tyres. Dont think you would get away with 60 series tyres with a standard length axle . Think you would be ok with 50's. though. i like the deep dish on these wheels
Admin Vista Posted April 7, 2013 Admin Report Posted April 7, 2013 Personally I think the mk1 RS looks best when lowered by an inch or two but sitting on its original 5.5J RS alloys with 175/70/13 tyres and the correct centre caps. You can get group1 mk1 RS alloys which also look great but are a little hard to find. Have a look in the "How To" room and there's a handy guide you can download showing all the different types of RS alloys. 1
Mickey Stewart Posted April 8, 2013 Author Report Posted April 8, 2013 These are current standard correct wheels I have along with the correct colour, is the colour correct???
Admin Vista Posted April 8, 2013 Admin Report Posted April 8, 2013 As far as the 4 spoke alloys goes, yes. They came from the factory in kind of a dove grey but are often now seen repainted black. Don't know about the steels, sorry. There's a useful RS alloy guide here http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/ipb/index.php?/topic/64169-identifying-your-rs-alloys/
Mickey Stewart Posted April 8, 2013 Author Report Posted April 8, 2013 Can someone put a picture up of a set of mini lights or 4 spokes that will fit my car and where the best place to buy them from is, Thanks
mk2 mike Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 Midlands wheels seem to be popular. Have a look at their website. That's where I got mine from. same as what's on the MK1 RS above.

Admin Vista Posted April 8, 2013 Admin Report Posted April 8, 2013 Don't rely on them fitting a mk1 because they fit a mk2 though. And be wary of the effect 175/50/13 tyres will have on your gearing before opting for those.

I was just gonna put up that there is less room under the mk1 than my mk2 some people have no probs with rubbing some do.
Chris standage Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 I have 6jx13 rs 4 spokes on my mk1 now, no problems with clearance under the wheel archs and it feels the archs well, cant remember what tyre size im running though, i will find out tommorow.
Chris standage Posted April 8, 2013 Report Posted April 8, 2013 Id post a picture of mine if i bloody well knew how to haha
Mickey Stewart Posted April 9, 2013 Author Report Posted April 9, 2013 Can anyone tell me if the RS2 was originally fitted with the steels or the 4 spoke, based on my car which is a M Reg. I am thinking of selling both sets which are as below: brand new tyres on both sets of wheels 4 spokes 185/70/13 goodyear nct Steels 175/70/13 pirelli Think I will also lower the car a inch or two and then put the four cibies on. Can I lower the car on the original set up without cutting the springs??
Admin Vista Posted April 9, 2013 Admin Report Posted April 9, 2013 It could have had either the steels or the 4 spoke alloys. The steels were standard but I'm led to believe that most cars came with the 4 spoke RS alloys. To lower it you'll need lowering blocks on the rear and shorter springs on the front. As you say, cutting the existing springs is not a good solution.
Rookie Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 I wanted the 7.5 x13 for my mk1 escort. They won't fit unless you either chop the axle , put an Anglian van axle on or flair the arches. The offset is all wrong. Unless of course you want them to look like the ones in the pics Vista put on (orange escort) I bought the 7x13 's from r&r alloys, they were cheaper than midland and same jbw wheels. I have 185x60 tyres on and car is lowered 1" . Hope this helps !! Also i have set of 4 superlites i may be selling soon, nearly new , and 4 yokohama tyres 175x50 , nearly new. Can anyone tell me how much they are worth. cheers !
Mickey Stewart Posted April 11, 2013 Author Report Posted April 11, 2013 Stick a picture up of the wheels in your car and the Mini lights your selling
