so jealous, that is the car i've always wanted (oylmpic blue mk1 rs2000) ever since I was a lad and what got me into Old Fords! Enjoy, looks absolutely stunning mate :):tongue::victory::smilieguys:

List of job to do:

Engine Serviced - slight oil leak
Correct bolts for air filter box
Electrics sorted as rear lights, interio light, not working
New Indicator stalk as faulty
Centre console fitted and secured
Fit spare wheel clamp etc
Replace carpet, door cards, kick cards beta cloth, boot mat, will be keeping original trim taken out
Fit Vin plates etc
New switches and refurbished 6 dials - keeping orignal
Window Rubbers replaced
Bolt battery down
Re-fit drivers door
Speedo cable and rev counter fitted
Replace HT leads
Fit cambelt cover
Handbrake sorted
Bonnet catch sorted.
replace steering wheel

Very nice, what wheels did you decide on in the end?

Was thinking of just putting 4 spoke RS wheels on, tempted to lower it by inch or two??

 

do you think I should keep it standard or new wheels, cibies and lowered?

Stick with the mk1 RS alloys mate, especially if you're keeping it standard everywhere else. It does look as if it could do with coming down an inch or two and cibies are a personal thing. I like them and did fit them to mine when I bought it, not everyone likes the look though.

 

What's the history behind it? Part finished restoration?

its 99% complete but I am just really fussy and want it totally mint

yes thats one lovely car, i remember back in the day around 1984 when i was learning the car trade

a family friend who gave me a saturday job bought an rs2000 exactly in that spec from a salvage yard in ilford, ill never forget that day that car stirred something inside me i went on to own around 200 mk1 escorts in 10 years, that rs2000 nver reached me tho, just a few dozen mexicos. good luck with the car mate shes a stunner
