Is that why your selling it :D

There is a rumour that on the fuel guage which ever side the hose is on the little pic is the side your filler is ?

If you look at the fuel gauge indicator on your dash by the fuel gauge, the little icon that looks like a petrol pump will tell you which side your flap is on! The pump draawing will be one way round or the other!

I have heard the same about the petrol light on the dash letting you know which side it is but not checked it out. I thought the reason the fuel flap was on different sides was because its got to be on the opposite side to where the exhaust exits?

The RS dashboard has the fuel pump hose pointing to the left and the filler is on the right! My daily has a small arrow next to petrol telling you what side it's on. Wife's car the same :)

It's not true for all cars. I've driven about 3 or 4 in the last year that had the filler cap on the opposite side to the little pic on the gauge.

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear you've bought 4 cut 'n' shuts, really bad luck!
