... for the storm that's heading our way? Could it be another 1987 for those of us who remember it? Forecasters are predicting 80mph winds for us in the South!

I remember it well. Tree in our garden came down smashing my bedroom window during the night and pinned me to the bed! Luckily I got away with just a few cuts n bruises when my parents were trying to lift the branches to give me enough room to get out of bed.

Remember having to try and get into work on my motorbike .. Interesting journey to say the least.

We were told we had the day off work.....................Big cheer went up from lots of smiling faces, then a few seconds later the news was broken that the "day off work" was to be spent helping clear the roads, cutting up trees (with hand saws!) and helping clear all the debris. Our smiles disappeared pretty quickly!

I was working on the Rac remember watching artics being blown over on the M4.
All the contents were scattered over the Carridge way and some helpful Police man took a nice sofa and "hid it" behind some bushes, I went back later and picked it up and took it home, next day I got a call threatening to take it back, I took it to the police station, funny they didn't know anything about it !!!!
I would have loved to have seen the coppers face when he rolled up in a borrowed van to retrieve it from his hiding place !!!

Well, I don't know what all the fuss was about? I went out last night bringing loose items in from the garden and securing anything that was too big or might be blown around. Sure, it was a bit breezy when I went to bed at gone 11 but nothing too excessive, slept all night and didn't hear a thing?

Anyone anything more exciting to report?

Yep we did the same, woke up with no electric and the fence blown down, it was howling in the night enough to wake me up but wasn't as bad as I thought it might be.

On the plus side its the neighbours fence and I've been trying to get him to replace it for ages.

A bit of a damp squid where I live in Plymouth, a few leaves and branches here and there, just a normal windy night! it was a bit wet and windy coming back from the kit car show in Exeter yesterday afternoon, but the Cortina handled it ok with four of us in it!
