thrashermax Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 As 2013 is coming to an end, how many miles have you covered in your classic. My car was off road for around 3 months being fitted with 1700 xflow. Since fitted I have done 600 miles, 200 in the last week. I want to use her as much as possible. Does anyone feel guilty about not driving your pride and joy enough? So what will you cover in 2013 and how many miles do you intend to do in 2014?
SmokeEm Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 done around 750 this year (Only bought in May) but intend to do 3000+ next year!

frankthefencer Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 I know how much I did. I have done 3100 miles in my mk1 escort so far this year . All on my pukka HPE 2.1 pinto on 48 IDF's . It's been thrashed up the drag strip, run for 5 hours flat out on the way to Le Mans and then used whenever I can . It's been used rain and shine and still looks cool!!! I can honestly say it has impressed me and has been fun and comfortable. Over the winter it will be checked and serviced and a few mods then it will be ready again. Use them don't just look at them!!! 2
D-FENS Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 My poor old mk 2 cortina has sat unused in the front drive for yet another year .Last year did 5 miles getting MOT done but totaly lost all interest .I should realy sell it but hate the hassle and bu****it involved in selling .
theloudboy Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 I did just under 5000 miles my insurance compant told me.
Mickey Stewart Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 Hmmm wish I did more miles but reckon I did only about 100, mainly because I was still finishing it off, will be used next year though that's for sure, the only time it will be used this year now is from Frank the Fencer trailer into the NEC 1

1.1_Mk1 Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 So far in the mk1 about 10. In the classic before it about 150. Hoping to get a few hundred in before the end of the year.

stuartp Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 not a huge amount in the escort but several thousand in the Cortina
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted November 4, 2013 Moderator Report Posted November 4, 2013 From July 2012 to July 2013 I had done 10 Kilometres. With Registration (MOT Equivalent) which was $750 Australian Dollars and Insurance which was $250 Australian dollars it worked out at 100 dollars per Kilometre. Since July this year though I have done around 500kms already so things are looking up.
thrashermax Posted November 5, 2013 Author Report Posted November 5, 2013 I've done approx 2500 in my mk2 cortina.... Maybe going to do a bit less next year as my wife surprised me with a capri 2.8i for my birthday.. Lucky you! I got chocolate and a mug...
thrashermax Posted November 5, 2013 Author Report Posted November 5, 2013 I do less than 500 a year in mine. You need to use that sweet xflow more, they get better with the miles! Since my engine build I've put 600 on her and she keeps getting better!

stuartp Posted November 5, 2013 Report Posted November 5, 2013 Looks like Cortinas get used more than others... well mine is a ghia - that's as close to luxury as an osf can get we've done a few 600 odd mile weekend drives in it this year the escort is loud, rattly, clunky, either too hot or too cold and prone to breaking - I still love it though
theloudboy Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 I do less than 500 a year in mine. Bloody hell mike next year mate if we get any sort of summer sun give us a ring we can go out for a drive I do shift work so i'm about in the week
