orionmojo Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 twatted the fookin car and i was only pulling out of the drive. pulled out and the wheels spun on some slush and the rear quarter went into my dads hilux bumper. impact was at about 5mph, but it was enough to crack the filler. it looks like where its had an outer arch the skim of filler has cracked, a fair way round. more flippin money to find to sort it

Rick Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 bad news mate how much you pay for the wheels in your sig pic mate?? awesome
teamtom Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 not meant in offensive terms but was the filler done properly? it shouldnt have done that
Cookie Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 not meant in offensive terms but was the filler done properly? it shouldnt have done that Course it would, filler is very brittle, if knocked hard enough it will crack in the place of least resistance, especially if its only a skim like on an arch.
Pipster007 Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 My cousin could plaster a wall with less filler than you have in your car
Rick Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 id check the rest of the car over with a magnet
orionmojo Posted February 11, 2007 Author Report Posted February 11, 2007 thanks guys. i dont really know much about the car, except it was restored in '82. theres a dodgy repair on the drivers side A pillar, there its slightly raised ans its suspected filler, but i'v nver checked it out. as to it cracking under light pressure, i'm not sure. fact is everyone knows RWD cars step out in the wet, and it was wet... and it stepped out. end of imo. its not mint, it has been welded, so repairs are expected to surface now and again. its just unfortunate. i'm bloody gutted though. never mind.
petrolhead01 Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 gutted for you fella!!on the bright side it looks as though i needed some attention as the woodworm was setting in , and better to find it sooner rather than later !!!! good luck mate
orionmojo Posted February 11, 2007 Author Report Posted February 11, 2007 it was ok until i created the crack. it went straight through the mot, its not a rotbox, far from it, but itmaybe hasn't been restored to the standard of some you might say
escort21 Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 80s restorations usually involved chicken wire, newspaper and filler
orionmojo Posted February 11, 2007 Author Report Posted February 11, 2007 80s restorations usually involved chicken wire, newspaper and filler yeah, paper feckin mache too which this one was checked for. i have some pics, might post em up in abit. its not as bad as i thought it was yesterday, which is nice
