So it's always a delight to find your neighbours shed roofing has come off in the wind and landed on my escort, might be getting a fresh paint job sooner than I expected, now the fun bit of trying to get a bit of money out of them.

Well can only see how it goes tommorow when I speak to them, they know it's happened but I wanted to speak to them myself, they should have insurance hopefully but yes get on ok with them, known them for over 10 years, even if they give me a little bit towards it that's better than nothing.

Yes mark your people skills is top notch, just speak a little bit louder than normal and they'll get the jist, well I know it was the weather that did it but surely it's there fault as the roofing was in poor condition and not secured down properly, not really sure how things work but I'll sort it out

BUT saying you go the legal route questions will be asked "you say it wasn’t secured properly" are you a building engineer to clarify this? as they will do anything not to pay out.

well I've been up in the north for the past 2 days so haven't been able to sort anything out, but even the slightest bit of money of 250 quid which is well under what a spray job would be he refused the other day, i know its around christmas and all that so I'm slightly under standing, but to be honest looks like ill get nout or minimal money towards it.

Is your car insured? Claim off your insurance and get them to claim from his buildings insurance.

 

I had a construction company wreck my paintwork by lifting buckets of wet cement over the car. By the time I returned it had set hard and wouldn't come off. They wouldn't play ball either so I claimed off my insurers for a complete repaint. They counter claimed off the construction company and made a full recovery

well i would claim on my insurance but I've been told as other people have said to me that some out buildings like sheds are not covered under the home insurance, the bloke already said that he couldn't claim on his insurance.
