By far the best pressies the large chap (calling him fat is not politically correct apparently?) brought me, were a selection of tapes for my cassette player in the Capri...along with a Haynes manual. Quality.

My other half bought me an Escort! In fact she bought me two!  :)

Got my son a Scalextric set for Christmas, he loves it. I remember them being much harder to use though. The sets of my youth I could never keep the car on track on anything but a straight but both he, I and our 4 year old, find them quite easy to control. Does the stated "magnatraction" make that much of a difference?

Next on my list was a mk1 or 2 escort to burn off his Bugatti Veyron with........but was gobsmacked at how much the old cars cost to buy new! Two escorts would work out more than I paid for the whole set!

Yes, it can do. The Escorts and the two American V8s I've got stick to the track like glue, but I have a pair of Renault Meganes which skip around much like old cars, and a pair of Nissan 350SX (?) which are set up to stick to the track but put the rear end out at any opportunity.

I've got an Aurora AFX track up in the loft that came with a mk1 escort and a Capri. Had great fun with it back in the early 80's and that also used magnatraction
