Interesting, never heard that before, who told you that. Use B373 in mine with no issues and have no qualms about taking advice from the guys at Fostek who recommended it

On a lot of the sites selling it says for rally or competition use only not for road use.

Mine was set up as 45/45 and 25-35lb preload ... Drags on a slow corner so was advised using an additive night help.

First time Ive hard it as that castrol oil comes highly rated.

I've been using the Castrol B373 for about 7 years now with no problems, drag racing and a lot of road miles, I am using a Capri slipper diff with the plates, it used to get noisy on slow corners so I use the additive that Ford use on the Capri's, not cheap 120ml costs around £30 but does the job!

That's probably more to do with what's in it, i.e. marketing it as competition use only allows them to sell a product that wouldn't be passed for general use. Valvoline VR1 20/50 racing is frequently marketed the same way.

B373 is what my axle builder recommends he also advises to change it every year, as the plates ware the particles form a paste with the oil and ware out the CWP.

Valvoline VR1 is not environment friendly and is catastrophic for catalysts by its higher ZDDP contents. Its got lot of the wrong stuff we just need in our old skool engines ( zinc, magnesium, etc ) but which has a bad influence on new cars and for the green folks, the environment. Thats why  Valvoline states its completion use, to prevent getting claims.

For those who want to know, how oil can enter the exhaust and destroy a catalysts, simple by its PCV carter ventilation system. Engine sucks oil fumes which contents ....oil. that's why modern oils have lees of the good stuff we need for our bearings and more of the bad stuff we don't need in our old skool engines.

On subject, I was advised to run Valvoline 80W90 GL5 LS in my ZF LSD ( 75% LSD). Never had issues with it.
