MK5 Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 here is a link to someone trying to stop the scammers . comes up with a way of warning potential victims http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WHY-ARE-EBAY-SO-f ... dZViewItem i like this idea - but i use ebay all the time and would worry about being banned
Johnson Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 This was his reply: ? The sale will be managed by eBay for our own protection as they act asa neutral third party. Look how this works: 1. I will contact eBay and give all the info about this deal. 2. They will email us the forms which are needed for our deal. 3. You’ll send the money to eBay and they will notify me to ship the car to your location. 4. After you will inspect the car and decide to keep it, eBay will forward me the funds. Remember you have 7 days to test it. If by any reason the car is not as described or if you find any problems with it I will pay for the returning fees. I'm sure it won't be the case because it's a state of art looking and working vehicle. I apologize if it seems like I'm pushing on this deal but I really want to be sure everything is clarified before any further steps. I will initiate the transaction through ebay and in the next 12 hours they will contact you with transaction details, invoice, payment instructions, and buyer’s protection policy. Just wait for eBay instructions. Please go thru them exactly!!! In case you did not receive their message please let me know. Best Regards,Jerome Kornfeld

Cookie Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Ebay could make a complaint, and we could investigate it, but they don't because they don't want the publicity of people being done for fraud on Ebay. Says it all does'nt it!
Johnson Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Hes sent me this.... Ok Michael, let me know once you receive the payment instruction so we can start the deal. Best Regards, Jerome Ive replied..... Hi there mate great news my brother is currently in Dursburg near Dusseldorf on business. he knows about these escort more than i do and suggested he meet up with you do do the transaction. he can get it shipped back via his haulage company for free providing its still uk registered. but i feel this would be a better way of doing this because you dont have any feed back and havent given me a contact number or uk address. Let me know Mike
Jay_harrier Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 He didn't reply to me when I said I had an agent in Rotterdam, I just recieved the Escrow scam e-mail. I forwarded the whole lot onto Ebay's fraud investigators who confirmed that the mails are fake - I got bored with stringing him along. No doubt he'll be back, I had the Netherlands addresses checked out, one checks out the other didn't.
Johnson Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 heres his reply, any ideas what i should send back? Did you received the payment instructions from eBay?I close the deal only using the eBay instructions. I understand you are concerned but it's not the case. This transaction is covered by eBay purchase protection program against fraud and description errors. I'm a serious ebayer with a great reputation and my sales on ebay are permanent. I have been serious with all my customers until now, why should I be different with you? You have my personal guarantee that you will receive the car as soon as I have the payment confirmation from eBay no later than 5 days (as long as the shipping takes place). When this transaction is as successful as we both wish it to be, the door opens for a lot more business based upon a natural increase in confidence. Kind regards Jerome
Jay_harrier Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 heres his reply, any ideas what i should send back? Up to you, string him along for a bit if you feel like it , it's all bull. Ebay confirmed its fake. Makes me laugh the bit about his "ebay reputation", zero feedback... yeah right. You're not comitted to anything so I wouldn't worry, he's still after a bite from someone.
Jimsiss Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 say that the police have been informed of your illegal activities and the actual owner of the car is your friend who has also filed a statement with the police
MK5 Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 maybe we should all do that - he'll cr@p himself!!
Johnson Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 he wont crap himself he will just try and try again until somebody bites. my mate at work has just won a boat on ebay. this time a seller ( 0 feed back). but he has sent through the same false ebay certification and bullshit about he is in spain this time and will ship it back at when money has been transfered 'securely' via this bogus credit exchange. my mate is obviously not going to pay him but he was convinced at first that it was legit and he had got a bargain
