PeteRS8084 Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Col, a goodie you might need has just shown up on turbosport forum, stack digital dash, out of a cosworth. So one cable does all. 650 squid, a deal may be done though?
Leo Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Nice, it it lhd? If it is are you converting it? Not sure about the colour scheme, but what do I know! Might look great in the flesh.
colr6 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Report Posted October 8, 2015 Thanks Pete, just had a look not my sort of thing. Ordered a lotus dash for it you know the thing people forget to buy when they do a lotus copy! 1
khanlad Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Think i may be able to answer for col? It is lhd, going rhd, colour changing to a met grey colour with darker lotus style stripe, obviously hes busy in the garage at the minute trying to make it look like an escort! Hehe 1
colr6 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Report Posted October 8, 2015 Leo,yes at the mo LHD but converting got all the parts from Escort-tec....Pete wants it in green, Paul will no doubt will say white and I guess you would say orange! Thought of lotus colours but most people do that so me liking to be different chose those colours.just have to see what it turns out like, can always be painted again! 2
colr6 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Report Posted October 8, 2015 How can you make an iconic shapely car look like a plain box!
colr6 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Report Posted October 8, 2015 Vista re leaving turbo on yes, only possibility of problems is the width of exhaust manifold to turbo been a bit wide, would make it very close to inner wing. Can you get a tubular manifold to pull thin any?

Thought of lotus colours but most people do that so me liking to be different chose those colours.just have to see what it turns out like, can always be painted again! Black and gold Black where the lotus Tina is white, and gold where it's green...........is my bias showing at all Vista re leaving turbo on yes, only possibility of problems is the width of exhaust manifold to turbo been a bit wide, would make it very close to inner wing. Can you get a tubular manifold to pull thin any? You can use a 4wd manifold to gain a bit of space, they aren't as good for power but work fine for moderate power and are a bit more compact than the 2wd one. As to the Stack dash, agree with you, keep it period. Besides, other than addition of a stand alone boost gauge, there's nothing that the by turbo install needs that isn't there already on a GT style dash
colr6 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Report Posted October 8, 2015 Black and gold would be nice, but after owning a black car never again trying to keep them clean and scratch free to much like hard work!plus bodywork has to be flawless to be in black especially on flat panels.
Admin Vista Posted October 8, 2015 Admin Report Posted October 8, 2015 tell me something I don't know!
Leo Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Orange is just the wrong colour for that, the original gt red I reckon. If I was ever going to sell up my Escort, a two door Cortina would be next on my list. Very damn cool.
khanlad Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 How much room you got for the down pipe? I got a 4 inch pipe coming off mine, escort admittedly but must be similar? Plus if youre using capri x member they should give you the room between coloum and chassis? I warmed it up and sqwashed it a little, close but does the job
khanlad Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Have you seen the n/a mk2 tina in retro ford this month, moonstone blue proper nice
colr6 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Report Posted October 8, 2015 The tight space I'm referring to is if you measure from centre of engine outwards on exhaust side, then I measure from centre line on car it does not leave a lot of room to inner wing
colr6 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Report Posted October 8, 2015 Don't buy the mags, maybe should do for info.seeing as the engines are so last year! There should be all the info I need out there!
khanlad Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 I cut mine down a little then rewelded the flange, it will fit! So old hat? Yeah let them tell you that when it comes on boost, great fookin whoosh, chirpin away, old hat my bottom! You'll being giggling like a mad man escaping from the asylum! 1
colr6 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Report Posted October 8, 2015 Do you mean there is a chance of me getting away from OSFords before I spend all my kids inheritance, not on your nelly
