Leo Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 So your an all black leather man then! I'm not answering that. Pete I'm not anti biker, honest. Packed up now but rode for years. 1
colr6 Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 I have both types power rangers for modern bikes and real leathers for old stuff! So not biased at all
dalmarshall Posted October 22, 2015 Author Report Posted October 22, 2015 Leathers goes with the bike dunnit! You can't ride a gsxr and dress like Boon!
colr6 Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 Better to look like a power ranger than suffer with gravel rash!
dalmarshall Posted October 22, 2015 Author Report Posted October 22, 2015 Absolutely! My sister used to be a nurse and would tell me stories of patients who didn't bother putting their leathers on cos they were 'only popping to the shops'......came into A &E with their arse grated OFF 0.7 seconds sliding on the road to wear jeans through compared to 7 seconds for bike leathers is what I was told by my old instructor! I'd never go out without them!
Leo Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 It's the nippers on these scooters that scares me, no glove, no brains and track suits.
Leo Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 It these nippers on scooters scare me, no gloves, no brains and track suits.
colr6 Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 Think that goes along with no MOT/TAX/INS
dalmarshall Posted October 22, 2015 Author Report Posted October 22, 2015 And usually a nicked bike! 1
PeteRS8084 Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 We have the let's go for a blast on a Sunday brigade here, in tea shirts and shorts! Usually with their Doris on the back with the same state of undress. But they are not British bikers. I remember seeing a bloke come of an old rd350 on pier hill in Southend, when you could ride down it, it was a hot summer day and he was in shorts and wait for it.....flip flops, he came a cropper doing 30 ish, I can still remember the screams, he was trashed.....elbows, knees, ankles, feet, hands and back.........It looked like someone had spread raspberry jam down the road! It's leathers for me, if al, a bit sensibly coloured.........even when I lived in Cyprus and 35 to 40 degree summer heat!
colr6 Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 It's all coming to light everybody on here must be suffering with mid life crisis old fords motorbikes and critical of everybody! 2
colr6 Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 And forgot to add all the coppers are young whipper snappers!
Leo Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 It's only the mid life crisis brigade that can afford old fords! 1
Admin Vista Posted October 22, 2015 Admin Report Posted October 22, 2015 It's only the mid life crisis brigade that can afford old fords! I owned my first Old Skool Ford at 15, apart from a few years in the late 80's and a 10 month gap in 2003, I've owned one ever since. Guess I must have started my mid life crisis early......................thank God as I wouldn't want to pay what they sell for now 1
Leo Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 No one wanted them back then, I'm surprised how many survived.
khanlad Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 I ghink my leathers must have got wet, they seem to have shrunk? 1
Leo Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 You've got to hand it to the guys who squirrelled them away for years, unsung heroes. 1
Leo Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 I ghink my leathers must have got wet, they seem to have shrunk? Let me guess, only round the waist.

khanlad Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 I can still get the bottoms on, a bit tight, but the top half....... not a chance
khanlad Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 To be honest ive never found a set of leathers that have been very comfortable
