Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted March 6, 2016 Moderator Report Posted March 6, 2016 Its often said our old Escorts have lasted longer because of the drier weather and lack of snow. There may be truth in this but if you guys stop parking in swamps you may see some noticeable improvement in the rust department. Im just saying.

I think there are more swamps in Oz than over here.......no Crocs here either
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted March 6, 2016 Moderator Report Posted March 6, 2016 I think there are more swamps in Oz than over here.......no Crocs here either We really dont have that many permanent swamps as such really whereas you guys have peat bogs and the likes. Archaeologists find well preserved bog bodies in them. I wonder if there are any nicely preserved old Ford shells buried in there too? We have some nice rivers and waterways though. Our major lakes only have water in them once or twice in a decade but they still call them lakes for some reason (how silly is that?). On drier summers with water restrictions it becomes illegal to wash your car and water the garden. Imagine in the UK being told you cant get your precious cars wet enough! LOL The crocs are just there to make sure the American tourists adhere to the no swimming signs.
Admin Vista Posted March 7, 2016 Admin Report Posted March 7, 2016 We do on occasion get hose pipe bans in some parts of the UK. Pretty rare though.
khanlad Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 Yeah normally after 3 weeks of solid rain, 2 days of sun, hose pipe ban!
In The Pit Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 We do on occasion get hose pipe bans in some parts of the UK. Pretty rare though. We used to have them a fair bit in the 90's but since the millennium most of the summers have been pretty wet (awful in many cases) certainly where I live anyway.
Danish Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 I was thinking of the water ban in 1976 then realised that's four decades ago now!
herb capri Posted March 19, 2016 Report Posted March 19, 2016 Ahhh yes 76.... The summer when you could leave foot prints in tarmac , now loose small children in potholes! How things change eh? Hurrumph ! In my day never heard of broken alloys! Cow shit on the lanes yes,! Tell that to these whippersnappers and haven't got a clue what's going on! What dear? Ah yes ,,,crocodiles? Here Lord preserve us!! First post photo ,road like that's what we had to drive on all the time when the damp cows had been out, can't see crocodiles making that kind of mess my young antipodean ! Now I feel better after that wheelchair trundle down altzhimer lane,
