Leo Posted June 25, 2017 Report Posted June 25, 2017 Cracking weekend, cracking roads, and good to put names to faces. 1
Admin Vista Posted June 25, 2017 Admin Report Posted June 25, 2017 Speaking of faces, anyone else got "Moor face"?
stephens_xpack Posted June 25, 2017 Report Posted June 25, 2017 Don't think you could have done anything better, camp site was awesome, maybe too awesome as I ended up ditching the actual tour to spend the day with me kids. Thoroughly enjoyed it, beautiful setting, and cracking cars.... 1
stuartp Posted June 26, 2017 Report Posted June 26, 2017 Sign me up for next year for sure! 500 odd miles was a big ask for my temperamental old thing but we made it there, drove around and made it back without incident. I haven't been on many tours but it was the most relaxed and yet well organised that I have experienced - huge thanks to everyone involved The tour notes and the quiz as we went round were great. the drunken quiz at the campsite was a lot of fun in the evening too Camping really added to the experience so I recommend that part to anyone considering joining in next year I really need to get some new foam in my seat for the next long drive though! 1
sean.coles Posted June 26, 2017 Report Posted June 26, 2017 Awesome weekend and a great bunch of people. Nice to have meet you all and defiantly up for it again next year. 1
mk2 ben Posted June 29, 2017 Report Posted June 29, 2017 I would to like to thank everyone who has helped this weekend. Preliminary feedback is positive however if people can PM me with any constructive feedback which we can use to make next year better, please do. Hope all those who attended enjoyed it and have made it back home ok. There will be many photos from the team photographers we had dotted around the route but here's one from me of the group parked up at Moretonhampstead. Thank you for your support and see you again next year. Was a fantastic weekend loved it the camp site was amazing some fantastic cars brilliant organisation and really nice friendly folks the only thing I can say was the tour was a bit short on mileage but I'll defo be up for it again next year might be buying a mk2 transit this weekend so we'll have somewhere more comfy to sleep 2
OSF Contributor Mexican Gerbil Posted June 29, 2017 Author OSF Contributor Report Posted June 29, 2017 Thanks for all the positive response from all who took part. Mileage was kept at 50 for a few reasons. Lack of petrol stations in the middle of Dartmoor, whether it would be popular and also it's left me with a few route options for 2018. It seems like most of you want to drive more. I'm already looking at a route but will need to drive it and find somewhere that can cater for 100 people for lunch. Also wether to have a show and shine on the Sunday as those who need to leave to travel long distances reduced the numbers. I'm looking at an activity stop on Sunday. For those who can stay will have something to do whilst those who need to travel can without problem. Will give it a few months then start to plan proper. Look out for OSF Tour of the Moor 2018 later in the year. 1
stephens_xpack Posted June 29, 2017 Report Posted June 29, 2017 Ready for the trek home early Sunday afternoon, I was of the view that for me it was too much of a round trip to do for a weekend so probably wouldn't do it again. But now that you are already talking and planning for the same trip in 2018 - I will defo be there, I may just add in an extra day or two to make it more of a break in between the drive down and drive home. And next year I will defo remember to bring my plaque and actually do the tour........ 2
